We were lucky to catch up with Tatiana Matos recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tatiana thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
My mission through Dale, Let’s Travel! LLC is to show people that you do not need unlimited PTO or an unlimited budget to travel. My definition of travel is leaving your home to venture out and do something fun! It does not have to be across the state, country, or world. It just has to be outside your home, even if that includes exploring a local National or State Park, visiting the nearest theme park or waterpark, or checking out the newest escape room near you!
This is something I feel so passionately about because my parents instilled in me the importance of taking time for yourself and your loved ones to go out and enjoy what the world has to offer. Growing up, we were always out and about exploring Orlando and Miami. We even had (and still have to do this day) an annual family trip! Over the years, we have traveled to Tennessee, Washington DC, Chicago, New York, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, and more.
With this being how I grew up, I thought everyone experienced life in a similar way; however, once I got to high school, I realized that was not the case. I learned that some people rarely get out of their homes unless it’s to go grocery shopping or run other errands. As such, I have made it my company’s mission to encourage and show people that it is possible to travel without it being a major change in your lifestyle, especially financially.

Tatiana, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
Yeah, of course, my name is Tatiana, and I am a travel blogger! A little bit about me: I am a huge Disney fan, Latina, and a CPA. However, the most important thing about me is that I love to travel! Before embarking on this journey, I was an external auditor and a grants analyst. Although I am grateful for the lessons those positions taught me, those roles were not for me. As such, I took a step back to evaluate my goals and dreams, and that is where Dale, Let’s Travel! LLC was born!
Within my travel blog, you will find various travel ideas, plans, and what-to-pack guides for many places around the world. Initially, all the blog posts were related to my personal travels. However, to expand my clientele and enhance relevance on Google, you will now find a majority of the blog posts to be research-based. This transition ensures there will be at least one blog post for everyone to enjoy and find helpful, regardless of where you live, your travel preferences, or your budget. This change was heavily driven by the realization that I cannot simply travel and write as much as someone’s mind brainstorms different places to go. Still, I can, at least, try to catch up with those thoughts through research-based posts.
What sets me apart from others is that in every weekly newsletter, I ask my subscribers to send me blog post ideas that they would like me to cover. Doing this allows me to provide them with ideas on what to do on their trip by conducting the initial research myself. If I cannot complete this for them due to time constraints, etc., I am more than happy to find a blog post by another great travel blogger and share it with them. I offer this to my subscribers to assist in the research process of their trip ideas, in hopes that it will relieve them of the stress of planning or, at the very least, excite them enough to go through with their travel ideas!
I began this journey a little over a year ago, and the part I am most proud of is how I created this company/travel blog from scratch, mostly all by myself. The blog posts, the newsletters, the website, the social media content, the keyword research, the SEO, etc. – these are all done by me! However, without the support of my family, friends, and the Dale Community, none of this would be possible or worth it. As such, my community is everything to me and DLT! LLC. With that, I try my hardest every day to ensure I provide the best quality content to my readers!

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I first began Dale, Let’s Travel! LLC, I spent half of my time working on the main website, which includes the travel blog posts, and the other half on social media. At that time, I published one blog post a week based on first-hand experience and created about five reels/shorts/TikToks about each blog post to share on social media. Closer to the one-year mark and with the help of some experienced bloggers, I realized I could not split up my time, energy, and attention the way I had been and expect one or both to take off.
As a result, I had to sit back and ask myself what I wanted to do – 1) be a travel blogger or 2) be a travel content creator. The answer was clear (I wanted to be a travel blogger), but it was still a bit difficult for me to understand and move on from. However, I decided to stop focusing on the social media aspect and began publishing at least two blog posts a week with the goal of eventually reaching three blog posts a week or more. Since making this decision, I have seen the most growth I have ever seen on my website!

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
At the start of Dale, Let’s Travel! LLC, I believed the best source of new clients for me would be through social media. I thought that having my friends, followers, and viewers see my DLT! content on social media would spark their interest in visiting my blog posts, and that would be it. However, that turned out to be far from the truth – instead, the most effective source of new clients for me is organic search on Google. Once I made the pivotal switch in my business and strictly focused on creating high-quality, research-based, keyword-driven, SEO-optimized material, I began to see a drastic change in my growth compared to before. I have remained focused on doing this, and my growth has continued consistently. Now, the goal is to publish at least one more blog post a week, totaling three. Hopefully, by doing this, my site will continue to grow on Google!
