Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tatiana Fritzgerald. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Tatiana, thanks for joining us today. We’d love to hear the backstory behind a risk you’ve taken – whether big or small, walk us through what it was like and how it ultimately turned out.
The Risk of Choosing Myself—Even When the World Wasn’t Ready
One of the biggest risks I’ve taken was choosing to lead with clarity and boundaries in a world that often demanded my silence, my labor, and my emotional availability—without reciprocity.
As a Black woman entrepreneur, artist, and mother, I’ve faced countless moments where I was expected to overextend, to accommodate, to make magic out of scarcity. Whether it was launching VIP Prom with limited resources, building Beauty Assassins from the ground up, or advocating for youth who are often overlooked—I’ve had to push through exhaustion, doubt, and systems that weren’t built for me.
But the real risk wasn’t just starting these ventures. It was refusing to shrink. It was learning to say no. It was choosing rest over hustle, clarity over chaos, and truth over performance.
I had to unlearn the idea that boundaries were selfish. I had to trust that honoring my emotional and creative limits would make me a better leader, a better mother, and a better artist. And I had to do it while still showing up—for my team, my community, and my son.
That risk changed everything. It taught me that peace is not passive—it’s a practice. And every time I choose it, I create space for others to do the same.
It’s why every sponsor packet, every student profile, and every prom moment is crafted with intention—because I know what it means to fight for joy, and I want every young person we serve to feel seen, celebrated, and safe.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Meet Tatiana Fritzgerald—Entrepreneur, Artist, and Architect of Celebration
I’m Tatiana Fritzgerald—makeup artist, creative director, and community builder based in Atlanta. I’m the Co-Owner of Beauty Assassins, LLC, an eco-luxury mobile beauty company, and the Creator and Executive Director of VIP Prom, a nonprofit initiative that curates transformative prom experiences for high-achieving, underserved youth. I’m also known artistically as Mia Tatiana, a singer-songwriter and performance artist whose work explores healing, identity, and emotional truth through music and movement.
My journey into this work wasn’t linear—it was lived. I didn’t just choose beauty; I chose people. I chose moments. I chose the power of being seen.
I started as a makeup artist, drawn to the emotional alchemy that happens when someone looks in the mirror and sees themselves—fully, joyfully, without apology. That passion evolved into Beauty Assassins, where we now offer inclusive, high-end beauty and styling services—makeup, hair, nail artistry, and wardrobe styling—for all identities and occasions. We specialize in mobile services that meet people where they are, literally and emotionally. Whether it’s a bride, a corporate client, or a young person preparing for prom, we bring more than our kit—we bring energy, empathy, and the kind of artistry that transforms moments into memories.
VIP Prom was born from that same heartbeat. I saw brilliant students doing everything right—excelling in school, showing up for their families, dreaming big—but missing out on the joy and recognition they deserved. So I created a space where they could be honored, styled, and celebrated like royalty. We provide gowns, tuxedos, glam services, transportation, and a red-carpet experience—all at no cost to the students. It’s not charity—it’s restoration. It’s a reminder that they are worthy of joy, not just survival.
As Mia Tatiana, I channel those same values into my music and performance art. My songs are rooted in truth-telling, emotional resilience, and the kind of vulnerability that invites others to heal. Just like with my makeup kit, I bring more than my microphone—I bring energy, empathy, and the kind of artistry that transforms moments into memories.
What sets my work apart is the emotional intelligence behind it. I don’t just create looks—I create experiences. I don’t just plan events—I build legacy moments. Every detail, from the tone of an email to the texture of a lip gloss or the lyrics of a song, is intentional. I lead with empathy, clarity, and a deep respect for individuality.
I’m most proud of the way I’ve turned my own healing into a blueprint for others. I’ve learned to set boundaries, to lead with integrity, and to protect my peace—because I want my son to see what it looks like to build something beautiful without losing yourself in the process.
To anyone reading this: I want you to know that my work is about more than beauty. It’s about belonging. Whether you’re a client, a sponsor, a student, or a listener—we’re building something sacred together.

Is there mission driving your creative journey?
The Mission Behind the Magic
At the core of my creative journey is a mission to restore joy, dignity, and emotional safety—especially for those who’ve been overlooked, underestimated, or asked to shrink.
Whether I’m curating prom experiences through VIP Prom, leading my team at Beauty Assassins, or performing as Mia Tatiana, my work is driven by a deep belief that beauty is not just aesthetic—it’s emotional. It’s about being seen, affirmed, and celebrated in your fullness.
I create spaces where people feel safe to show up as themselves. I design moments that honor individuality. And I lead with emotional intelligence because I know what it feels like to fight for peace, to rebuild from exhaustion, and to choose healing over hustle.
My mission is to make celebration accessible. To turn lived experience into legacy. And to show my son—and every young person watching—that you can build something sacred without sacrificing your soul.

Learning and unlearning are both critical parts of growth – can you share a story of a time when you had to unlearn a lesson?
Unlearning the Hustle: The Power of Rest and Boundaries
One of the hardest lessons I had to unlearn was that I had to do everything, be everything, and carry everything—alone.
For a long time, I believed that my worth was tied to how much I could produce, how many people I could show up for, and how well I could hold it all together without breaking. I wore resilience like armor. I thought rest was weakness. I thought boundaries were barriers to success.
But that mindset was burning me out. I was building beautiful things—Beauty Assassins, VIP Prom, my artistic work as Mia Tatiana—but I was doing it from a place of depletion. I was pouring from an empty cup, and eventually, I had to face the truth: I couldn’t sustain the vision if I didn’t start honoring myself in the process.
So I unlearned the hustle. I redefined strength. I started saying no. I started asking for help. I started protecting my peace—not just for me, but for my son, my team, and every young person I serve. Because I want them to know that success doesn’t have to cost your soul.
Now, I lead from a place of clarity, not chaos. I create from overflow, not obligation. And I’ve learned that the most powerful thing I can do is show up whole.
