We were lucky to catch up with Tasia Graham recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Tasia thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?
In my opinion, to be successful you must be authentic. And this is something that I’m speaking on from experience. With social media, it’s so easy to get caught up in other peoples lives and wanting what they have, but what the people really want is YOU. They want to see YOU. And being you is what will get you to where you need to be, so to me the success is in being yourself.

Tasia, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
Some may know who I am….and for those who do not, I’m Tasia Graham. And I am the proud owner of Taaenoelle + Co. Taaenoelle + Co. once specialized in custom branding and web design, but since then things have changed and I went back to the wedding industry. I’ve always loved weddings and always had a vision to see black beauty and excellence throughout the wedding industry — something I’ve noticed lacking for a long time. When the pandemic came, I had a lot of time to think and self reflect and in those moments is when God brought me back to the mission at hand — creating graphics and stationery that reflected people who looked like me. Being a brand where black brides/groomsmen can come and see themselves when they see my work. I offer wedding gifts, stationery, keychains and more. Black is luxury — and I want to make sure we are all aware of that!
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
I had to unlearn that social media does NOT define who I am nor does it define my success. The number of likes will not make or break the brand I’m building. I was so caught up in at one point and time that I couldn’t see that. But I’m so thankful for growth and the confidence to know that who I am as a designer and as a person — social media cannot dictate that!

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
My audience is still growing and I’m no expert — however, I do know consistency really is key. Show up! It doesn’t matter if only 1 person sees you — you still SHOW UP and you keep SHOWING UP.
