Hi Tashi, thanks for joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?

Yes, it has definitely changed my life. As a content creator building her own brand, I found that my previous 9-5 world has helped me tremendously from dealing with vendors, producing quality work, marketing myself and investing in myself as hard as I would for my 9-5’s.

It has given me perspective that joining both worlds would make a lot of sense, thus far granting me many success. From training employees, speaking with customers, getting promoted to General Manager and starting multiple businesses & failing at it, are all the highlights in building my brand today.

We all go through seasons but its carrying the lesson you learnt to build your own empire. To answer the question, yes I’m happier as a business owner T and no, I wouldn’t go back to the 9-5 world but I’m beyond grateful for what it has taught me.

Hey lovely readers, My name is Tashi Pearson (YouTube & Facebook), 25 of age. I go by Choo_ssen on my Instagram and TikTok platform. I am in the wig influencer business for 1 year now.

Getting into this industry stems from my teenage background of not being able to truly express myself in the clothes and/or hairstyles I’d love to wear due to not having the resources I needed to.

My platforms provides viewers with hairstyle inspos, from a basic ‘bust down or side part to coming up/recreating new interesting styles on different color/length/width wigs. My 1 min videos show viewers step by step how to install a wig, different styles to choose from, product details and my honest reviews for each wig companies.

What sets me apart from others is my passion for styling, learning new ways to improve and helping others around the world with a digital guide on Wig Influencer 101. It helps with Intro to Wig Influencer (accounts to set up etc), vendor list to get you started, What vou need to start, Dealing with Vendors, Social Media Guide and among many more.

I’m most proud of myself for allowing God to do his work in my heart, my mind and body. The main thing i would like my viewers to know about my brand is In everything I do I put God first and I wouldn’t be where I am without him. Every time I take up a scissor to cut my wig into a style I’ve never done before , I say a silent prayer and he always carry me through giving excellent results!

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

After being unemployed for 6 months at the beginning of 2023, I landed a HHA job nearby my new hometown I had moved to. At first, I was a bit confused of getting into the nursing field as someone that has been in the food industry my whole working life.

But once again, God puts everything into perspective. He provided me with a flexible 12 hour case, 7 nights a week. During the day I’d get some rest and after, create content. With every paycheck I receive, I would minus my expense and use the rest of the money to purchase wigs and/or essentials from Amazon. Once the money has been refunded after live reviews, I would reinvest it to buy more wigs so that I would never be out of content.

This continues until 3 months later I went viral and in another 3 months I became financially stable where I could quit my job and become a full time content creator. Consistency, discipline and perseverance definitely pays off.

I strongly believe success comes when you alter your mindset to believe you deserve every good thing.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

During Covid, I’ve started businesses and stop. I’ve listened many people tell me “You got potential”. I would take a test and get a average grade knowing if I had studied, I could’ve did my best. It’s reading 20 pages of a book then never returning back to read. It’s all these things that I half done that led me to keep going.

It’s this need I feel to want to know what would happen or how my life would change if I don’t give up this time. It’s the unseen that I desperately want to see. It’s the urge of trusting God and being delulu that everything has already work itself out for me and waiting for me to come and get it. It’s removing every doubt/ limits from my mind and replacing it with, “ I can, I will and it’s done”.

With every passing day, good or bad, these needs keeps me going.
