We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tashi Lee a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Tashi, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?

“This here wasn’t easy” was always something that I had said to a person after being acknowledged and praised for my hard work.. whether it was material things, weight loss, my mindset or mentality. Everything. I just always wanted people to know that results were never overnight for me. I always wanted people to know, especially the youth, that nothing came easy. Everything was earned. “Nothing comes to a sleeper but a dream.” Where I come from is rough and we’re taught that when times get hard, you see it through. We were taught to never give up and quit.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

I just started my brand and just got the clothing line up and running so right now we have things like shirts, sweats, and hoodies but are looking into different materials and fabrics as we speak!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

I actually just came home after serving almost a decade in the state penitentiary. My journey was a rough one to say the least.. main reason why I feel like my brand would resonate with anyone who has been through any sort of rough patch and made it through due to their tenacity and resilience!

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

The way that I built my audience on social media is from doing music. I am an artist. I started doing music when I was in high school. Obviously I had to take a break because of my incarceration but I am planning on dropping some new music really soon. My advice to anybody just starting to build their social media presence would be to really just stay consistent. I feel like that is the main thing!
