We were lucky to catch up with Taryn Smith recently and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, Taryn thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Has Covid resulted in any major changes to your business model?
At the beginning of Covid the togo sales for bar Queen were booming but now that everyone is going back to the restaurants and the clubs it has slowed down tremendously. Covid had another big spike and customers were not having gatherings either, but this summer 2022 everything has turned around and we are thriving.
Taryn , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
The bar Queen 👑 Is not your average bartender/club girl. I come to your home and create an experience to you and your guest. I dress according to the vibe, I make drinks according to your theme. When your guests leave they will be satisfied and wanting to book their next event. You will never have to worry about being in the kitchen or your home bar making drinks for your guests, or watching over your alcohol supply. I will be there taking care of everything so you can enjoy the event that you have worked so hard to put together.
Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?
When I first started my business with the help of my parents funds, my fiancés push and my best friends marketing skills it took off instantly. I had everything in place, and we have been very successful a lot of ups and downs with profit due to Covid but over all very successful. My best friend/marketing manager Lauren Kirkland, has a masters in business and bachelors in Marketing and she uses her skills to provide us traffic on social media. She has strategies on when to post, who to tag, and some others secrets lol. She is awesome and gets the viewers/followers waiting for more. She keeps the page clean and up to date, you have to want people to want you and she knows how to do it!
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
My most effective strategy to getting clientele is my customer service. I have never received a bad review, I treat all clients like they are my family and it’s my event. This is what keeps my regulars and the other guest who attend the party wanting their own bar queen experience. Bad customer service gets you nowhere. I have a small team myself, my fiancé- Pierijon, my cousin/bartender “kiki” and my marketing manager- Lauren and we kill it everytime.
