TarNeisha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Was there a defining moment in your professional career? A moment that changed the trajectory of your career?
I have faced numerous challenges in my life but one of the most difficult aspects of my journey as a female leader has been balancing my own mental health while supporting others. Recently, I received a diagnosis of bipolar depression and started taking medication to manage my condition. Through personal growth and spiritual reflection, I realized that my story could be a source of support for the many women who have experienced or are currently facing mental health issues, including those who may be in denial, as I once was. Because of my journey, I am deeply passionate about empowering women to reclaim their lives and achieve true freedom. I have successfully overcome these challenges, and I continue to navigate this journey with determination.
My personal bipolar depression diagnosis has indeed had a significant impact on my life and career. It has caused present challenges in managing my emotions, energy levels, and overall well-being, which can at times affect my ability to perform at work or pursue career goals.
For some individuals, receiving a bipolar depression diagnosis can be a defining moment that changes the trajectory of their career in various ways. It may lead to a reevaluation of priorities, a shift in perspective on work-life balance, and a greater focus on self-care and mental health.
One important lesson that I have learned from such my experience is the importance of seeking help and support when facing mental health challenges. It’s crucial to reach out to healthcare professionals, therapists, or support groups to develop coping strategies, manage symptoms, and navigate the impact of the diagnosis on one’s personal and professional life.
Ultimately, managing bipolar depression in the context of a career requires self-awareness, self-compassion, and a proactive approach to maintaining mental well-being. By prioritizing my mental health and seeking appropriate resources and support, I can now work towards achieving a fulfilling and balanced professional life despite the challenges posed by my current condition.

Honey, I am an “OVERCOMER”!!!!! About 8 years ago, I went through one of the hardest times of my life and made the choice to leave my ex-husband, and get divorced. If y’all only knew the emotions that consumed me for so long! I dealt with anxiety, low self-esteem, rejection, uncertainty, grief, anger, shame, feeling not good enough! You name it, I felt it! But I didn’t want to stay in those emotions, I didn’t want to stay in that place. I had to work on ME so that I could press on and move forward with my life. I didn’t plan on becoming a Life & Mental Health Coach, but God turns our PAIN into our PURPOSE! Through self-work and prayer and my amazing support system, God showed me that I could use my story to help the abundance of women that have dealt with and are dealing with tragedy. This is why I am so passionate about helping women get their LIFE back and truly live FREE INDEED! I DID it and I am DOING it!
Have any books or other resources had a big impact on you?
Yes “The Miracle Morning for Entrepreneurs: Elevate your SELF to Elevate you BUSINESS”. This book has been so inspiring and life changing during my entrepreneurial journey.
Putting training and knowledge aside, what else do you think really matters in terms of succeeding in your field?
In addition to training and knowledge, several key factors can be helpful for succeeding in my field as a Certified Life and Mental Health Coach. Developing strong interpersonal skills, such as empathy and active listening, is crucial for building trust and rapport with clients, understanding their perspectives, and facilitating positive outcomes. Maintaining a non-judgmental attitude creates a safe space for clients to explore their thoughts and feelings. Effective communication skills are essential for conveying information, providing feedback, and guiding clients towards solutions. Helping clients set SMART goals and creating actionable plans can drive progress and motivation. Continual learning and development through workshops and supervision enhance skills and knowledge. Practicing self-care, setting boundaries, and maintaining mental well-being prevent burnout and support long-term success. Building a strong network with other professionals expands referral opportunities and fosters collaboration for growth. By focusing on these factors alongside training and knowledge, I have enhanced effectiveness as a Coach and increase potential for success in my field.
