We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tarin Souriya. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tarin below.
Tarin, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is to help create memorable brands to help them find their unique voice. Even more so to be an example to people are on the up and up in my field – I want them to know the truth behind how to authentically grow a community with your real true story and values intact. It’s possible.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
I started off blogging about 7 1/2 years ago due to postpartum depression, I was a young mom who truly needed an outlet and I found it in telling my truth and connecting with others who were all in the same boat as me. Once I started my blog I had the urge to constantly change things as if it was MySpace again so I took a couple courses on graphic design, websites, and marketing and that was the jumpstart to how my blog turned into a full time business. It wasn’t the smoothest transition because I had no idea what I was truly doing more so I wasn’t the most confident in my work for the world to truly see which made it hard but I kept working.
Fast forward COVID hit and I finally had the courage to take the leap and make my business official by getting it registered and coming up with a legit name “Tarin Souriya Creative Studio” and just like anything else during COVID I for sure thought it would take off but it didn’t. I made absolutely nothing in my first year in business and I became very discouraged with even continuing the business; I gave it a little more time and put myself through more courses and lessons to see how I could serve my community and find my footing in the industry overall. I polished up on my skills, my offers, and pivoted in showing up as this confident designer ready to help give brands a face lift and boom. I was a corporate employee desperately trying to find a way out dreaming that my business would provide that for me and a year later it did.
My biggest package has been website design, content days and social media manage package. I love them all equally for different reasons as they all service a different purpose in my client’s branding. My goal is to help and fill in the gaps to clients who may not know what to do or where to start. I love being able to get the perfect angle and put together the perfect videos for my clients to showcase their space and their work in its purest form.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being a creative is being able to listen to how client vision things whether it’s their logo, website, pictures, etc and bringing it to life for them – seeing their reactions is truly priceless and extremely rewarding as a creative.

How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
I feel like almost too many times at this point! Lol however I wish there was someone there to let me know that this was completely normal and happens more often than we think. When I first started I had packages and services that really did not make sense but I was still just winging it, I had to come to a point where it was truly time to pivot and get some guidance. I hired a business mentor that truly helped me map out what I wanted for my business, what services would serve my community, and what steps to get there. I had to scrap my entire service option because I was one underpaying myself and two nothing was streamlined what so ever – we had to clean up the entire backend and pivot my business to actual profit and make a difference in my field. However I do want to say that what may work now may not be what will work later on down the line and that’s okay.
