We were lucky to catch up with Tara Nuxoll recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tara, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
I’m Tara, owner and photographer at Nuxoll Photography. I’m a wedding, family and brand photographer, story-teller and believer in love.
My mission is to empower each client to feel their best while creating valuable art together to last for a lifetime and beyond!
Our motto at Nuxoll Photography is “Your Story Is Worthy”, because each client has their own unique, precious story that is deserving of being told in a meaningful way.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I always had a love for the arts and especially photography. I worked in corporate America in Marketing for a while, before deciding to start my own photography business. I still cannot believe that my job is to capture amazing people on their best days, at the most beautiful venues. Or to bring a brand to life! Or to capture a family’s legacy to be cherished for generations to come!
My work is meaningful to me. Specializing in people-centered photography, I want to add value to my clients lives. My goal is for my clients to feel comfortable in front of the camera – feel beautiful, seen, and most importantly, I want them to leave as friends. And I believe that is what sets Nuxoll Photography apart.
What do you find most rewarding about being a creative?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist and creative, is that my creative vision becomes somebody’s treasure. Photos are important. They are a moment in time captured forever – Photos of your family, your special day, your brand that you built from scratch.
And I cannot believe that my job is to capture these things for other humans.
Every time I drive past a billboard with my photo on it, see a magazine at the local coffee shop with my image on the cover, see a client update their profile photo, see business cards with headshots I took – every single time I feel like I need to pinch myself, because I truly am living out my dream career.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy to grow my clientele has been word of mouth for me. I believe if you treat a client right and go above and beyond for them, they will do all the marketing for you by sending their family and friends your way.
