Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tara Juozitis. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, Tara thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Going back to the beginning – how did you come up with the idea in the first place?
I actually came up with the original idea of Less Thorns, More Roses (LTMR) platform on New Year’s Eve 2022. I was getting a massage, because times were very stressful at that point, and I was thinking about how I wanted to help other people that may be struggling with life. I wanted to create a space that was an outlet for people to express how they felt in an anonymous way. Over the next month, I stood up the platform and went live with the website. Over the next year, LTMR became a way for multiple people to write in ‘their diary’ and receive a response of another perspective on their situation.
Over the next year, I had a shift in the direction that I wanted to take LTMR. This is when LTMR Designs LLC was created. It wasn’t a sudden decision to start selling my artwork—it was more like a slow unfolding. There was a time in my life when I felt a heavy weight on my shoulders, a kind of tension that I couldn’t shake off. I was going through a tough period personally, struggling with my own mental health. It was one of those moments where everything felt like too much.
I found that the more I kept everything inside, the harder it became to cope. But one day, almost by accident, I picked up a paintbrush again—something I hadn’t done in a long time. And something magical happened. The act of painting felt like a release. It wasn’t about creating a masterpiece or worrying about perfection. It was about the act of letting go. As soon as I dipped the brush into the paint, I felt a sense of calm. Every stroke seemed to release a little bit of the stress that had been building up.
It was in those moments that I realized something incredibly powerful: art had become my outlet for dealing with difficult emotions. It gave me a safe space to process what I was feeling—without needing to find the right words, or explain myself. The colors, the shapes, the textures—they all spoke to me in a language that my mind and heart could understand. It wasn’t just about creating something beautiful. It was about healing.
With that, I was able to reshape and expand the LTMR platform to showcase my artwork and give people an opportunity to order a custom piece.

Tara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Tara Juozitis, founder of Less Thorns, More Roses (LTMR Designs LLC). I am a mixed media artist, born and raised in Michigan, who is inspired from just about anything. My family is my foundation and being a wife and mother are my best accomplishments in this life.
I’ve always loved to create. Even when I was a kid, you would find me drawing in my notebook everywhere I went. I love to create all things and tend to stay away from defined boundaries of any one genre. I have experience painting everything from realism to abstract, acrylic to oil, fluid to fabric. Having always been drawn to my creative side, I have recently decided to officially open up my own small art business where I specialize in selling originals and prints.
Throughout life, I have struggled with internal and external stressors that have led to moments of anxiety, depression, plummeted self-confidence, and even times of feeling like I failed as a mom, spouse, friend, or individual. A little while ago, my dad passed and I struggled immensely through the stages of grief afterwards. Being creative was my one outlet that I was able to escape from reality and express how I was feeling when I couldn’t find my voice.
Creativity saved me.
Art and creativity has always been an outlet for me for whenever I hit that “dark space” which led me to wanting to share it with you. In today’s world, I wanted to find a way to help bring more positivity to the surface and spread love however I can.
Being able to create custom pieces for clients is my favorite part. Bringing their idea to life is a challenge and an adventure, but the end result and their reaction is my favorite part. The ending is the definition of joy.

What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist or creative is the ability to express and communicate deeply personal experiences, emotions, and ideas in a way that resonates with others. Through art, we have the unique opportunity to give shape and form to what often feels intangible or difficult to articulate. The connection that forms between the artist and the viewer—whether it sparks introspection, inspires action, or simply offers comfort—is incredibly fulfilling. Knowing that your work can make someone feel seen, understood, or less alone brings a sense of purpose and validation that goes beyond the act of creation itself. It’s the power to touch lives, provoke thought, and perhaps even heal, that makes the creative journey so rewarding.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
My mission as an artist is to create work that not only inspires but also serves as an emotional outlet for those who need it most. I wish to spread word about my brand and provide the opportunity for me to create a special piece for the next client. Through my art, I aim to offer a space where individuals can reflect, heal, and feel less alone in their struggles. Whether it’s through bold, expressive pieces or subtle, soothing designs, my goal is to create work that invites viewers to pause, connect, and experience a sense of peace or empowerment. Ultimately, I want my art to be a reminder that creativity is not just about aesthetics—it’s a powerful tool for emotional well-being and personal growth.
