In 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, I created a business focused on a planning and registration course to help clients establish their own small businesses. At the time, I was incarcerated and noticed the lack of programs offering education on business planning and entrepreneurship. In September 2021, upon my release, I carried this idea and business venture forward with determination.
Despite not knowing much about my competition or how other entrepreneurs were scaling their businesses, I took a leap of faith. I began attending seminars and learning various trades to expand my knowledge and refine my skills.
To build trust and establish my platform, I started by offering free business information and assisting clients at no cost. This effort allowed the Business Workshop to grow into a familiar and trusted name.
A year later, after countless hours spent in libraries and meeting clients in their homes, I was blessed with the opportunity to secure my own office space and a dedicated conference room.
By 2023, the Business Workshop evolved to include technological advancements and digital courses designed for entrepreneurs. Additionally, I introduced a financial literacy course focused on holistic financial stability, covering topics like credit, taxes, and real estate. This pivot marked a significant turning point for the company, leading to its continued success into 2024.
The greatest risk I faced was not generating immediate and consistent revenue while striving to build a community-focused enterprise aimed at improving financial stability.
Today, my target clients are individuals facing credit or background challenges. After serving a four-year prison sentence and being released in 2021, I have personally experienced the journey of overcoming such obstacles. Since then, I’ve purchased a home and built a successful, cash-flowing business that serves a meaningful purpose in my community.

While serving a four-year prison sentence, I identified a gap in resources for individuals like myself who wanted to create a better future through entrepreneurship. I took that realization and turned it into action by creating a business planning and registration course designed to help others build small businesses.

Reading The 48 Laws of Power by Robert Greene and Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill are excellent steps toward mastering personal development and achieving a mindset shift. These books not only offer practical strategies but also deeply challenged me to think differently about ambition, discipline, and influence.
The 48 Laws of Power likely helped me understand how to navigate relationships, seize opportunities, and strategically position myself for success, while Think and Grow Rich focused on cultivating a mindset of abundance, persistence, and clear goal-setting.
