We were lucky to catch up with Tanya Salcido recently and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tanya, thanks for joining us today. Was there a moment in your career that meaningfully altered your trajectory? If so, we’d love to hear the backstory.
My defining moment wasn’t loud or dramatic. It was quiet, like a whisper I finally had the space to hear.
A few years ago, I found myself completely depleted. On paper, everything looked fine—I was juggling multiple roles, staying productive, and “pushing through” like so many of us are taught to do. But inside, I was emotionally exhausted, anxious, and spiritually disconnected. Even as someone who had always been intuitive, I realized I had stopped listening to myself.
One day, in the middle of a particularly overwhelming season, I placed my hands over my heart and simply asked, “What do I need to come back to myself?” The answer came in layers, but the first step was clear: I needed to connect with energy healing—not just as a client, but as a practitioner. Reiki had always called to me, but this time, it felt like an activation.
Training in Reiki wasn’t just a certification; it was a reawakening. It shifted the trajectory of everything—not just my career, but how I live, how I love, how I serve. From that moment forward, I committed to creating spaces for others to feel what I had longed for: safety, clarity, and energetic alignment.
The lesson? Sometimes the most powerful changes come not from pushing harder, but from pausing long enough to hear your own soul.

Tanya, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
For those who may not have met me yet—hi, I’m Tanya Salcido. I’m a Reiki Practitioner and Intuitive Guide, and the founder of Paz Reiki, a healing space where emotional clarity, energetic balance, and inner peace are at the center of everything I offer.
I came into this work not just through study, but through personal transformation. After decades of living in survival mode—navigating burnout, anxiety, and emotional heaviness—I reached a breaking point. It became clear that something deeper was calling me. I craved peace. Not the kind you escape to, but the kind you build from within.
Reiki was the first practice that helped me truly reconnect with myself. The more I researched energy healing, the more I realized how many people were quietly struggling in the same way I had been. That’s what sparked the birth of Paz Reiki.
At Paz Reiki, I offer:
– Reiki sessions (in person and virtual) to help release emotional blockages and reset the nervous system
– Seasonal rituals and digital tools for alignment and manifestation
– Workshops and circles that guide people back into their bodies, breath, and intuition
– Energetically curated offerings, like crystal bracelets, meditations, and mini courses that support everyday healing
I work with people who are overwhelmed and craving a deeper connection to themselves. My role isn’t to “fix” anyone—but to hold space for their natural healing to unfold. Whether someone is navigating grief, burnout, or simply feels stuck, I help them clear what’s heavy so they can reconnect with their own rhythm and power.
What sets Paz Reiki apart is its deeply intuitive, seasonal approach. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all healing. I integrate energy work with nature’s cycles, gentle rituals—so everything feels personalized, sacred, and accessible.
What I’m most proud of is how Paz Reiki makes people feel seen. This isn’t just a business to me—it’s a heart-centered practice. I want people to know: you’re not broken, and you don’t have to do it all alone. There’s another way—one rooted in softness, energy, and trust.
If you’re longing for clarity, calm, and emotional realignment, you’re in the right place.

If you could go back in time, do you think you would have chosen a different profession or specialty?
If I could go back, would I choose the same profession? Absolutely—without hesitation.
Becoming a Reiki Practitioner wasn’t something I planned from the start. It unfolded over time, through personal healing and spiritual reconnection. But looking back, I can see that every experience—every challenge, burnout, and moment of clarity—was leading me here.
This work allows me to show up as my whole self. It’s heart-led, intuitive, and deeply fulfilling. I get to help people feel seen, supported, and reconnected to their own energy—and that’s something I wouldn’t trade for anything. So yes, I’d choose this path again. A thousand times over.

Other than training/knowledge, what do you think is most helpful for succeeding in your field?
Other than training and knowledge, the most helpful thing in this work has been learning to trust myself.
Energy work is subtle, intuitive, and deeply personal. While training gives you the tools, it’s inner trust and presence that truly allow you to hold space for someone else’s healing. That means listening—not just to your client, but to your own body, intuition, and energy.
Also, consistency and care matter. People feel your energy before they hear your words. The way you show up, how you protect your own energy, and the integrity behind your offerings make a difference.
Lastly, being authentic. In a world full of noise, people crave realness. You don’t need to perform healing—you just need to be present, clear, and compassionate. That’s where the true connection happens.
