We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tanya MFK. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tanya below.
Tanya, appreciate you joining us today. Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Our mission at Success By Design goes far beyond the surface level of what we do. It’s deeply personal and rooted in my own life experiences. Losing my husband to cancer at a young age was a turning point that forced me to confront the fragility of life and the importance of living authentically.
This mission is about transparency, authenticity, and a belief that business should be fundamentally human-centric. It’s driven by the understanding that sales is not about pushing products or services, but about serving people and meeting their needs. It’s about creating meaningful connections, not just transactional ones.
Moreover, our mission extends to the younger generation. I’m deeply passionate about empowering kids with the knowledge and mindset to shape their lives, regardless of their chosen career paths. Life skills like time management, goal setting, and self-belief are universal, and I want to ensure that the next generation has access to these tools from an early age.
In essence, our mission is a reflection of my journey, my values, and my commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others. It’s a reminder that business can be a force for good, and that by putting people first, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to design their own success, on their own terms.
Tanya, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m Tanya Marie Figueras Kraisingr aka “Tanya MFK”, and my journey into the world of entrepreneurship and coaching is a bit unconventional. It began with running my first business at the tender age of 11 with a cleaning and babysitting service and continued as I ventured into the corporate world at just 19, where I had a successful career in clinical immunology.
However, life had other plans, and I became a widow to cancer at 25, which marked a profound turning point in my life. It was during this period of personal growth and self-discovery that I recognized the importance of living authentically and transparently. This realization ignited my passion for helping others create a life and business they genuinely love.
At Success By Design, we provide a range of products, services, and resources tailored to solopreneurs, coaches, consultants, and course creators. Our primary focus is on guiding individuals to drop the hustle, untangle their business, and craft a strategy around their unique talents and values rather than trying to fit into some guru’s blueprint.
We solve a variety of problems for our clients. From helping them identify and align with their true passions to designing systems that bring ease and simplicity to their businesses, our aim is to empower them to reach their next level of success. We believe that success should be measured not just in financial terms but in the freedom to live life on one’s terms.
What sets us apart is our commitment to transparency, honesty and authenticity. We must sell from our heart, not from need. We hold the belief that business should be human-centric. The world isn’t full of prospects, it’s full of people. We prioritize genuine connections over transactional relationships, and we approach sales as a form of service. Our focus is on adding value to people’s lives rather than merely adding them to a mailing list.
I’m most proud of our mission to empower individuals to break free from the confines of a traditional work to live mindset and to design success on their terms. Additionally, our dedication to extending these life-transforming tools to children, teaching them essential life skills, and helping them believe in themselves from a young age is something close to my heart.
What I want potential clients, followers, and fans to know about me and my brand is that Success By Design is more than just a coaching platform; it’s a community of like-minded individuals committed to genuine growth and connection. Our approach is different, rooted in authenticity, and focused on serving others. We’re here to help you untangle your business, unbusy your life, and unleash your unique vision, all while embracing the power of transparency and human-first values.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
One of the most profound lessons I’ve learned in my two decades of business development is the realization that there is no one-size-fits-all formula for success. For a significant portion of my journey, I found myself constantly seeking the “right” answer, moving from one coach to another, trying out different strategies and courses, all in the relentless pursuit of that elusive perfect blueprint.
The backstory to this lesson is rooted in my own journey of personal and professional growth. I used to believe that success had a fixed recipe, and I was on a quest to discover it. However, what I came to understand is that while people may offer valuable insights based on their experiences, there’s no universal “right way” or “only way” in the world of entrepreneurship.
This realization was a game-changer. It dawned on me that the key to success lies not in finding the perfect formula but in trusting oneself more deeply than one often gives credit for. It’s about embracing our own intuition, passion, and creativity to chart our unique paths.
Of course, seeking advice and learning from others is essential. It’s about understanding what works for them and gaining insights to avoid making similar mistakes. However, it’s equally crucial to shed the notion of a “failproof” plan in entrepreneurship. In this journey, falls and failures are not a matter of “if” but “when.” What truly separates those who succeed from those who don’t is resilience—the ability to rise after a fall, accept it as a part of the process, learn from it, and forge ahead with newfound wisdom.
This lesson has deeply influenced my approach at Success By Design. We don’t peddle one-size-fits-all solutions or claim to have the magical answer. Instead, we empower individuals to trust their inner compass, to embrace their unique visions, and to create success on their own terms. We understand that in the world of business, there are countless possibilities, and it’s the journey, the learning, and the unwavering belief in oneself that ultimately lead to lasting success.
So, if you’re on the path to entrepreneurship or seeking your own version of success, remember this: there is no “right” answer, but there is your answer. Trust yourself, learn from every experience, and know that resilience is your greatest asset on this extraordinary journey.
What’s been the most effective strategy for growing your clientele?
The most effective strategy for growing my clientele, in alignment with my philosophy, is rooted in a profound shift in perspective.
Traditional approaches often focus on chasing leads, using aggressive sales tactics, and seeking quick wins. However, the path to sustainable and meaningful client growth lies in a different direction—one that prioritizes authentic connection, transformational coaching, and a deep understanding of the client’s needs.
Here’s a strategy that I believe in:
1. Authentic Relationship Building: I start by building authentic and meaningful relationships within my network and industry. I don’t approach interactions with a sales agenda. Instead, I focus on genuinely getting to know people, understanding their challenges, and offering support when appropriate. My philosophy emphasizes human-first connections, and this approach resonates with clients who seek real connections.
2. Deep Coaching Skills: I invest in honing my coaching skills. I strive to be exceptional at what I do. Clients are drawn to coaches who can help them unlock their potential and navigate challenges. This expertise naturally attracts clients who are seeking real change.
3. Transparency and Authenticity: I am transparent about who I am, what I stand for, and how I can help. My commitment to transparency and authenticity is essential here. Clients are more likely to engage with me when they trust and resonate with me on a personal level.
4. Niche Clarity: I clearly define my niche and ideal client. When I know exactly who I serve, I can tailor my message and offerings to address their specific needs.
5. Empowerment and Empathy: I show genuine empathy for my clients’ challenges and aspirations. Like my mission to empower individuals, as a coach, my role is to empower my clients to find their own answers and create their desired outcomes.
6. Long-Term Focus: I shift from short-term gains to long-term relationships. Instead of viewing clients as one-off transactions, I aim to cultivate long-lasting relationships. This approach aligns with both my vision of value creation and my commitment to client success.
7. Referral Network: I encourage satisfied clients to refer others. Word-of-mouth referrals are often the most potent source of new clients. When I’ve genuinely helped someone, they become my best advocates.
8. Continual Learning and Growth: I invest in my ongoing development. The more I grow, the more I can offer my clients in terms of insights, strategies, and support.
In short, the most effective strategy for growing my clientele combines the principles of authentic connection, transformational coaching, and a commitment to transparency and authenticity. It’s a long-term, relationship-focused approach that aligns with my philosophy and resonates with clients who value genuine connections
