We recently connected with Tanya Ellis and have shared our conversation below.

Tanya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Parents play a huge role in our development as youngsters and sometimes that impact follows us into adulthood and into our lives and careers. Looking back, what’s something you think you parents did right?

My Mom was always there for me when I needed her. She always had an open mind and let me speak when I was little she made it easy to approach her with situations that most parents wouldn’t be so open minded to talk about. I remember being able to go to her with any problem and her helping me through it.

My Dad was great at keeping me on my toes. He and I would always have heated discussions about relevant topics in the news and such. He would let me speak my opinion and would have his own. We never really agreed on everything but that’s what kept it interesting. He was also there for me and did so much driving me around and picking me up when needed. Not to mention bringing me lunches when I forgot them which was often.

Both were very supportive and loved me. I am so incredibly grateful for that! Thanks Mom and Dad!! Xo

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Well, I have been grooming dogs for a very long time. Over 25 years and it has been my absolute passion. I have been a mentor and coach to many aspiring animal lovers and have had the opportunity to coach many into Entrepeneurs. A few of them are doing amazing things and have allowed me to share their stories and why they feel I helped them in the process of their journey.

I always give with an open heart and want what’s best for every new animal lover that comes into my life, I think that’s why I have succeeded in this part of my career.

I take my time getting to know each individual and what they want in order to help them achieve their goals and dreams.

I want everyone to know that they can have anything their heart desires with hard work and dedication, it also takes focus and drive!

Taking small steps towards those goals and dreams daily will earn you unlimited potential.

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?

I feel that owning and operating a business during the covid 19 pandemic was one of the hardest tasks any business owner had to do. It was a time where we were tested financially and mentally to get through a time that seemed impossible to figure out.

During this time I had to figure out how to keep busy in a positive way while feeling so incredibly defeated most of the days.

So I thought of ways to keep my amazing Pet parents and clients engaged and friends on social media.

I played some fun social media games during Easter which I called an Easter egg hunt.

People had to choose an egg and under that egg was a prizes. The prizes were anything from a note or a candy or something and i ended up delivering them to them during the pandemic and dropping them either in their mailbox or in person to give some hope to them.

It was nice to be there for others even though I was struggling so much.

I’m not sure I shared this story but it was memorable and made me feel good.

I believe that even when there are hard times, we can still be a ray of sunshine in someone’s life!
