We recently connected with Tanna Marshall and have shared our conversation below.
Tanna, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you had a defining moment that you feel really changed the trajectory of your career, we’d love to hear the story and details.
One major defining moment for me was my first day of freshman year in high school.
Let me preface…
I grew up in a suburb of Los Angeles, where they began bussing in public schools in the late 1970’s. I was going to be sent to a scary neighborhood far away every day.
Fortunately, my father – a retired policeman – said, “Oh HELL NO!”
So my parents put me in private school, hence, my first day of high school at an all-girls Catholic girls school.
Growing up, I was an ugly duckling – chubby, glasses, braces, acne…
Boys were not interested in me – often they were very mean.
So this first day of school, surrounded by only girls, all in the same uniform, gave me a tremendous sense of peace, joy and belonging.
I didn’t realize at the time that this where I was at my best – surrounded by like-minded and like-hearted women.
I quickly gained a close group of friends and we remained close all through high school – I’m still close with most of them and also many other girls from my class.
At the time, I was also heavily involved in Job’s Daughters, a Masonic organization for girls.
From that experience, I gained leadership qualities, improved my public speaking skills, and most importantly, had numerous opportunities to bond with other young women.
The sisterhood within Job’s Daughters and my daily experience with my high school classmates provided an empowering network of inspiring young women, creating unforgettable moments of support and fun.
My girl friends have always been monumentally important to me and throughout my adult life I’ve always surrounded myself with amazing female friends.
I believe my high school experience laid the foundation for those deep relationships with women.
So my passion for nurturing those friendships, partnered with the desire to connect with great women, led to the work I’m doing, coaching and teaching women, connecting them with each other and supporting and empowering them to create the life they want.
The scope of my work evolved from my experience of being diagnosed with lupus at 15 and subsequently immersing myself in holistic health, natural remedies, and alternative therapies to feel better naturally. I eventually became a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner and after 26 years of doing this work, I healed myself of lupus over a decade ago.
My sessions with women were primarily emotional and I ended up coaching them on all aspects of their lives, helping them to shift their mindset to more easily attract their desires – something I had learned to do when I was introduced to Louise Hay’s work and the teachings of Abraham-Hicks.
So, I became a Certified Law of Attraction Coach to focus on the practice that I enjoyed and loved teaching to others.
In my work I’ve noticed repetitive themes with women, especially Gen X and Baby Boomer women over 50 who were raised to take care of everyone else’s needs, put themselves last, play the martyr, and do it all perfectly – without ever complaining.
This has resulted in millions of women living frustrated, unfulfilled lives – at the very least feeling depressed, hopeless and joyless – and at the extreme, developing illnesses or physical issues – sometimes that’s the only way they give themselves permission to rest and receive nurturing and support.
Women are often overlooked for all they do. At home they work tirelessly to make sure everyone else is always taken care of, often without acknowledgement or appreciation. And in the corporate world, women must often work twice as hard to get ahead, then be paid less than the men doing the same job. These women sometimes adopt the persona of a “ball-buster” to gain any semblance of respect or equanimity in the workplace, which can take an emotional and energetic toll.
This is exhausting for women – no wonder so many get burned out and often develop illnesses.
I have nothing against men – there are plenty of great men in the world and I’ve been fortunate to be connected to many amazing men personally and professionally. And I am fortunate to be married to an incredibly loving, supportive man.
However, the world is set up to support men and conversely, there is also tremendous suppression of women and their rights.
Women need support, and when they come together in the spirit of sisterhood, that energy is incredibly powerful and the support is magnified.
There is a special energy when women gather to uplift and empower each other. Some refer to it as the Divine Feminine.
This is one of the reasons I created the Infinite Woman community – to provide that support and a safe, sacred space where like-hearted women can gather and receive the nurturing, supportive energy they need, where they feel they belong.
All the work I do with women – coaching, teaching, supporting, uplifting, encouraging, and empowering them – brings me so much joy and fulfillment!
And in my personal life, I love spending time with my girl friends – and fun is always a priority! Regular trips to Disneyland with my friends is essential for my well-being.
So, the evolution of my work – combining my love of supporting women, planning events and my perpetual need for fun, developed into my feminine community and the programs and events I offer.
When I look back at my experiences during my adolescence, I see that I was meant to do this work with women to help them live the life they want – and have a lot of fun in the process.
I invite any woman who is looking for that support to finally make herself a priority and live the life that SHE wants, to take one step on that path by taking the Self-Care Boundary Quiz on my website – https://tannamarshall.com/ to see how well she prioritizes her well-being right now.
For any women who already know they’re ready to take a big leap into the experience of self-care and transformation, I offer my 12-week program, Overcoming Nice Girl Syndrome. The name is self-explanatory – women know when they need it and when they’re ready for it.
I want all women to feel powerful, fulfilled, confident and joyful. I’m excited to support as many women as I can who feel called to the work I’m doing and to join our growing Infinite Woman community.
When I think back on that defining moment the first day of high school and how I felt being surrounded by girls – happy, safe, with a sense of belonging and community – I’m in awe of all I’ve been inspired to create, and I’m honored to be living my purpose to bring those same feelings to women so they too can live a fulfilling life.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.

My intention with each woman, whether working with me one-on-one, in my program or in a group event, is to help them gain the confidence to prioritize their self-care, learn to set healthy boundaries with love and compassion and boldly pursue their goals and dreams.
When women are empowered to take a stand, to do what’s right for them without worrying about what anyone else thinks, the tools to manage anger from those around them, it gives them the freedom, confidence, time and energy to live the life they want, instead of living as everyone else them expects them to.
My clients have gone on to transform themselves, their relationships, and their lives to be much more fulfilling, with a new understanding of their inner guidance and power. It’s amazing to watch their transformation, with a new sense of purpose and commitment to put themselves first.
Sometimes there is pushback from people in their lives, but they learn to handle it with love and compassion for themselves and others. It’s a beautiful way to live and all women deserve to stand up for themselves, speak their truth and embody that power and confidence in every area of their lives.

Have you ever had to pivot?
When I started consulting with clients as a Holistic Health Practitioner, the women I was working with had issues much deeper and broader than the scope of holistic health. Although holistic encompasses body, mind, and spirit, we were delving much more into the emotional aspects of their lives and the issues they were dealing with.
I inadvertently – and unexpectedly – ended up being a life coach. Although it felt very natural since at my previous job of 20 years at Capitol Records, people would come to me for advice when they were feeling stressed and blocked about everything from their health to relationship issues. I loved helping them and here I was again, in the same role with my clients.
I decided I wanted to get the appropriate certification for the work I was doing, so I became a Certified Law of Attraction Coach and combined that with my knowledge, experience, and expertise in holistic health in my coaching.
I had a strong passion for the Law of Attraction and utilizing the power of the mind with intentional thoughts, emotions and focused attention and energy – that’s how I attracted many miraculous things in my life – including my husband and healing myself of lupus – so it seemed a natural transition for my business.
I’m so grateful for that pivot in my life and career!

Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
When my father was dying in 2003, he asked me to move in with my mother and help take care of her. She was self-sufficient at the time, but I believe he wanted her to know someone was there for her…and would be there for her down the line.
I had to give it some thought but I couldn’t say no to my father – he and my mother had done everything for me throughout my life. It was my turn to give back.
Sometimes it was a challenge going from having my own place to living back with my mom, but ultimately, we got along well and grew closer.
A few years later she began a slow decline and eventually I had to devote myself to her full-time care.
It was a daunting task, but once again, I was happy to do it since she had always been there for me.
That was a path I was not expecting to take, especially since the majority of the responsibility was on me to take care of everything, and I took my mom’s care very seriously.
I utilized all my knowledge of holistic health to manage and improve her health dealing with type 2 diabetes, congestive heart failure, arthritis, and dementia.
In addition to the daily routine of meals, bathing, medication, movement, managing her mental state, and always making sure she felt safe, loved and happy – I handled all of her finances, several properties, doctor appointments, senior daycare, etc.
She lived a long, happy, relatively healthy life and as I promised her, I got her to her 90th birthday! She passed away four months later, peacefully at home, in bed, just the way she wanted and the way my father requested.
It was one of the most challenging and also one of the most rewarding times of my life, and I’m grateful that I was able to make the last few years of my mom’s life as comfortable, happy and loving as possible.
Because of that experience, I know I can handle anything – and handle it well, with love.
