We were lucky to catch up with Tanisha Tucker recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tanisha, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
As a mom, wife, teacher, and business owner I take tremendous pride in my business that represents my name my reputation and my legacy. When venture out is based on the places where I have had the best experience with service as well as a memorable experience. As for my business owner my goal is to create memorable lasting impressions on your special day with that being said the attention to details is very important from the color of the vessels being used to display your food, the colors on the plate for garnish, the taste, and presentation all makes a significant impact on how you remember that day or your event. I live by a motto if it is not be good enough for me to serve to my loved ones I would never serve it to a client.
Tanisha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

It does not matter the size of your event or the type of event my services are provided to ensure that it is memorable and a lasting impression will be had.
My spice line was created after a tragic miscarriage. The spice line was created in order to have healthier options in healing my body naturally instead chemicals. Today I have 19 products in my line. I started with one of our best seller Orange Lavender Blend and it was started eight years ago. All of the funding from the spice line does go to my sons education as well as donations to different charities within our community.
Fun fact I started out in the industry at the age of 14 volunteering at two different restaurants on the weekend to be able to learn the business inside and out.
Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?
Our passion for this industry has gotten us into a lot of rooms with a lot of influential people our food, to our staff, and our presentation everything that we do is done exceptionally well. I do not invest in marketing currently my clients all share info information and the quality experience they have had with us . I am able to stay in business and keep my reputation intact based on my ability to anticipate needs an over deliver on all expectations . Everything that we do helps to propel us to the front of excellence. Taking the time to listen understand what is expected on someone special day goes a long way.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
I am the first of nine children for my parents. I learned at a very young age that being the first came with a lot of responsibilities. With this being said I helped my mom a lot with my siblings in my younger years. I did not take my education seriously. At the age of 12 I relocated from Jamaica to New York, where my father realized I was not where I needed to be with my education in order to get me caught up to where I should be for my age tutoring was required in all subjects. I was able to overcome my learning challenges and graduated high school with $96,000 in scholarships., this was my ticket a prestigious culinary university to pursue my passion. I have always been a hard worker but I’ve also been extremely blessed to have worked with some excellent chefs within the culinary field and mentors.
