We were lucky to catch up with Tanisha Mackin recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Tanisha, thanks for joining us today. Let’s talk about innovation. What’s the most innovative thing you’ve done in your career?

I run a company that provides ghostwriting and publishing services. In the midst of my career, I decided to pursue my passion for travel writing. I combined my love of writing and traveling to share my experiences with the world.

Tanisha, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?

I am an award-winning, bestselling author, ghostwriter, publisher, and travel writer. In 2010, after the loss of my husband, I founded my own publishing company, Tanisha Mackin Publishing, LLC to help other authors share their stories. In 2020, I combined my passion for writing and traveling to become a travel writer. I travel the world and share my expertise with others through my guides, blog, and show. My work has helped travelers find places to go, stay, and things to do on their vacations. I have been featured in Yahoo Finance and Go Banking Rate as a travel writer.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?

I hired a social media management company to help me build my following, but I also learned how to engage with others on my own. I found that using relevant hashtags was a great way to reach new people.

Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?

I pivoted my business to focus on travel writing, as I find it more enjoyable and one of my passions. I still work with a few clients on ghostwriting and publishing projects, but my primary focus is now on travel writing.
