We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tania Conde. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tania below.
Tania, appreciate you joining us today. Owning a business isn’t always glamorous and so most business owners we’ve connected with have shared that on tough days they sometimes wonder what it would have been like to have just had a regular job instead of all the responsibility of running a business. Have you ever felt that way?
As a business owner, I would say that I am happier than ever before. Not only do I have control over how my business operates and the money it produces, but I also get to make a real difference in people’s lives. However, there are still days when I feel overwhelmed and stressed out from all the responsibility that comes with running a business and taking care of my personal life at the same time.
Last month, I had one of those days where things seemed to be falling apart; orders were behind schedule, my staff was off sick, and the income wasn’t coming in fast enough to cover expenses. That’s when I started thinking about what life would look like if I just had a regular job instead – no late nights worrying about payroll or customer complaints, just clock out when my shift ends and head home.
At first, it felt like a huge relief – no more stress or decisions to make. But then reality set in no more pushing myself to create something new or developing relationships with clients whose skincare needs have been taken care of by Angoshine Cosmetic products. No more feeling connected to something bigger than myself and watching it grow into something that not only supports me financially but also helps others take charge of their own self-care journey.
I’m not sure if that’s a sign of maturity or just fear of failure – either way, it made me realize why being an entrepreneur is so important to me. Sure, there will always be moments (like last month) when running a business feels like too much to bear…but then again these moments are part of the process. You experience them so you can learn how to better manage them in future situations.
So, even though there are times when I think about what it would be like to have a 9-5 job without any risks involved…I know nothing compares to the feeling you get when you’re working hard on something that really matters.
Tania, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
My name is Tania and I’m a skincare enthusiast with a passion for helping people find the right products to suit their individual needs. My journey began when I couldn’t find products that worked for me, so I decided to learn more about skincare products in order to make my own. After graduating from Natural Skin School, where I received my diploma in natural skin care formulation, I launched Angoshine Cosmetics.
At Angoshine Cosmetics, we create products based on different skin conditions such as acne, eczema, anti-aging, and glowing. Our range of products includes soap, vitamin serums, face and body scrubs, and face and body oils. We take an all-natural approach to skincare treatments by using plants and natural ingredients. We believe in providing customers with products that are gentle on their skin yet effective enough to tackle any issue they may have without harsh chemicals or synthetic additives.
I’ve been passionate about the beauty industry since a young age and it’s been fulfilling to see how much people can benefit from our products. The feedback we receive from customers is incredibly motivating – hearing stories about how our products have helped improve their condition is what keeps me going every day! In everything I do, my mission is to help others discover the joys of taking care of their skin naturally and reclaiming their confidence.
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
One of the most effective strategies for growing our clientele has been to focus on word-of-mouth advertising. We have found our customer through existing customers telling their friends and family about Angoshine Cosmetic, and this has allowed us to reach a wider audience. We have also taken advantage of social media platforms to reach potential customers. Our posts about our products and services are shared across platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. This has enabled us to spread awareness of our brand and products even further.
We have also been part in several pop-up events at retailers such as Montrose Marketplace and Trendsetters Market. At these events, we are able to showcase our products directly to potential customers and allow them to ask questions or try out samples of certain products themselves. These events give us an opportunity to build relationships with people that may not be familiar with Angoshine Cosmetic yet and introduce them to the benefits of using plant-based skincare treatments.
In addition, we have taken advantage of reviews from existing customers online by responding positively and constructively engaging with customer feedback through various online channels such as Google Reviews or Yelp. This is one way we can ensure that our current customers are happy with the service they receive from us, but also show potential future customers that we take customer satisfaction seriously.
Any fun sales or marketing stories?
One of my favorite marketing stories is when I decided to take a risk and launch a new product line, Angoshine Cosmetic. I remember feeling really nervous because there was so much pressure on the success of this product. Even though I had formulated several products for different skin conditions, it was still risky.
So, I decided to start small and host a few pop-ups in Houston, Texas. It was such an exciting yet nerve-wracking experience. The day of the first event started with me setting up my booth at the Montrose Marketplace early in the morning.
As more people started to arrive and check out my products, I could feel the positive energy radiating from them. They were genuinely interested and seemed enthusiastic about trying out my products!
I also got invited to another local market called Trendsetters Market as word about Angoshine Cosmetics started spreading throughout Houston. Everyone was really impressed with my products and many people purchase them right away!
This led to more sales over time as well as getting invited to other markets and spa in Texas like the Acs Pro Med Spa in Houston and Sun Ray Salon. People were loving my products and kept asking for more!
These experiences have helped me learn so much throughout this journey; from taking risks, developing better marketing strategies, and learning how to cater to customers’ needs better – it has all been invaluable knowledge that has helped me create a successful business today.
