Tanast, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today What do you think matters most in terms of achieving success?

Staying motivated and never giving up is a big part of my success. Making goals that are achievable short term to build up for the bigger picture. Sacrifices have to be made. Good things don’t come easy. I don’t really believe in luck, I believe in hard work.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and having spent almost a decade in Las Vegas, I have honed my skills in scratching, beat juggling, and battle routines as a turntablist. Over the years, I have diversified my interests and expanded into producing original and remixed songs. Since 2006, I have had the pleasure of showcasing my talents in venues across the United States, including California, Oklahoma, and more. My career took an exciting turn in January 2009, when I became part of KQKS 107.5 FM, where I have been able to collaborate and perform with some of the hottest mainstream artists. Additionally, I have expanded my reach through my special guest mixes on Sirius XM radio for Pitbull’s Globalization, further cementing my position as an expert in the industry. My entrepreneurial spirit has led me to start a DJ/entertainment booking agency, equipped with the latest lighting, sound, and pyrotechnics to make any event or occasion memorable. As the head of the agency, I have been featured on many TV shows and radio shows, earning the title of the best hip-hop DJ in Denver, and best DJ for the LGBTQ community for two consecutive years. My experience has given me the opportunity to headline big festivals, as well as teach and mentor many aspiring DJs. I am well-versed in technical sound and lighting, having been the DJ for the Denver Broncos Super Bowl Party in the 2015 season and the Colorado Avalanche Stanley Cup Party in 2022. As a DJ, I am determined to set new standards in the industry.

How did you build your audience on social media?

You have to have content and consistency. The best thing to do is follow peers that are where you want to be. Ask them questions and create content with them. Always be on top of things going on or new to your industry.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?

Be a leader not a boss show the team you can set the bar high and show them that everything you ask from them you would do too. Help them reach their individual goals. Be straight forward with them. The best thing I have going is they all look up to me so it drive me to push harder myself.
