Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammy Thomas. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tammy, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being an artist or creative force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?
I think of artistry and creativity as a lifeline for one another. Neither is more important or better than the other. An artist is naturaly a creative force, and I am a Creative Artist, without limitations to where I alow my imagination to explore.
I am so blessed to do what I love, that I never really think about having a “regular job” per se’. I count my blessings daily that I am able to be in a profession where I get to use my voice, and my talent in so many areas of the performing arts profession! Whether I’m reporting traffic on the radio, shooting indie films, acting in a theatrical stage play, or my interactive book club, these things alow me to sustain a comfortable income!
Now I will say this, I LOVE LOVE LOVE COFFEE, and have always thought of what it would be like to be a barista….
That would be a cool “regular job”, although I’m sure baristas would agree that coffee, is no regular business, it’s Extraordinary!
Tammy, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I am an actress, writer, producer, radio personality, former fitness trainer with a passion for the arts. I started acting at a very young age in my church plays, fell in love with performing, and never stopped! What has kept me going is God, and the passion for continuous transformations. Creating characters, performing in character is all part of transforming myself. It’s like when little kids play dress up and pretend!
There are so many things that I am proud of as I continue my life journey. I particularly proud of the way I see things through! When I set my mind to do something, I 1) Complete it. When I start something, I finish it. 2) Go all in. I don’t half step. Anything I take on, I give it my all. 3)I don’t make excuses, I make things happen.
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
Being able to share content I’ve created experience with my fellow creative artists, and the rest of the world. It’s also wonderful when that content gets picked up by a distributer!
What can society do to ensure an environment that’s helpful to artists and creatives?
It’s always wonderful when you can donate to a creative artist……In the form of Money, Time, Space, or Talent. We can ALWAYS use one, or ALL of those!
