Tammy and Bertha, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. If you could go back in time do you wish you had started your business sooner or later
My sister and I started our business in March 2019. We always say that we started our business at the right time because we feel we wasn’t mature enough to start a business. Cakelipps is in honor of our grandmother who passed away in 2012. She is the reason Cakelipps came to life. Our vision started in the year of 2018 and it became a reality in 2019.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
My sister an I did our research and decided we wanted it to be Vegan. We wanted to be in for the healthy as well as the beauty. We finally met two chemist who met our needs and now we have a beautiful relationship. We are most proud of our progress and how far we have come. We started out with only five colors of lipsticks and have expanded to about 67 colors that consist of lipsticks, lipglosses and a vitamin E stick for men and women. In 2021 Cakebatter came to life which is our Eye Shadow Pallet. Our goal is to be in 50 states, international and globally!
We’d love to hear about how you met your business partner.
My sister Bertha Miller and I are business partners. Out of seven children Bertha and I are the oldest sibling and grew up very close. So if I had to say when I met Bertha I was only 2 years old when Bertha arrived into the world lol. We have been doing everything together since we were children so it was only natural that we came into business together.
What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
I love new clients I meet through people I don’t know. When my sister and I have events we always attract new women who tell their friends. So new clients has the best word of mouth. Our social media platform has also been really great for clients or potential new clients.
