We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tammy Rydahl. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tammy below.
Tammy, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
My organization business is slightly different than many of the others out there. I came to organization from the interior design world. Design clients became interested in organizing their homes and actually came to the firm I was with asking for the service. This is how my organizing services were born! So….. not only do I organize spaces but I have an eye for design and I create a well styled space as well. I incorporate styling in all of my organization projects!

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Hello, I am Tammy Rydahl, owner/founder of Simple Organization, a luxury service providing home organization.
As I mentioned previously, my career in this industry started in design and developed into organization. I feel very fortunate to have design background because I do believe good organization and design go hand in hand. Not only do I want a space to function well but it is an extra bonus if it also looks amazing to the eye! I am a one woman show and to date still doing all of my projects myself. I love the business of organizing and being creative. Taking a space from chaos to perfection is like putting a puzzle together for me. I really enjoy every aspect of it.
My absolute favorite part of this business is the clients I meet through it. I enjoy helping people get their lives organized and seeing how it impacts their lives. Creating calm is what I like to call it! I create calm…. what could be better than that???

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social media is marketing genius in my opinion! It is how I have built my business and how I continue to reach clientele on a daily basis.
I am working on my audience every day. That is the key I believe. Consistency! I try to post and add stories every day. Consistency works. I’m not purchasing followers nor have I hired anyone to manage my social media. I’m sure it is a great option for many businesses as it is extremely time consuming but being a creative I actually enjoy doing it and I love connecting with my followers. I have made many key connections on social media and some have been huge benefits to my business as well as my social media growth.

Have you ever had to pivot?
Pivoting in business is not something I have been forced to do yet. I say yet because I’m sure the time will come but for now I have pivoted a couple of times but mainly to grow my business.
I began as a luxury home organizer. Organizing any space in a home. I continue that service and sometimes it goes beyond in home to commercial spaces.
As life came back after the pandemic I found so many people were doing home renovations. I kept hearing from clients that they couldn’t find a designer to take on their small projects. Being in the field I knew this to be true as design firms are so overwhelmed with large scale remodel projects. I decided I would begin offering “interior styling”. I would take on the small jobs that interior designers just couldn’t take on anymore. It has proven to be a great addition and I have several clients who need a new rug, new decor/accessories, help with wall art or a room refresh! It’s a niche service and one that I enjoy just as much as organizing!
