Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammy Mills. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tammy, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. Do you manage your own social media?
I manage my own social media. My choice is a personal one. I am in control of what is posted on my social media accounts and I am able to engage fully with comments and/or questions. I will say that consistency in posting is sometimes a struggle since I am not a content creator. What helps is batch posting where I schedule posts ahead of time.

Tammy, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I’m the founder of Simply Grand Events, a wedding coordination business with a heart for couples who want a meaningful, intimate wedding without all the stress. With over 20 years of experience in the industry, I’ve seen firsthand how overwhelming planning can get — especially when tradition, pressure, and expectations start to cloud what is most important to the couple.
I specialize in day-of coordination and intimate weddings under 100 guests, including elopements. I’m also a certified marriage commissioner, which allows me to perform simple, heartfelt ceremonies for couples who just want to say yes — no frills, no fuss.
Most of my clients come to me needing a calm, capable presence to guide them through the big day. I help couples avoid timeline trouble, vendor confusion, and last-minute chaos. I don’t just “show up” on the wedding day — I’m there as an advocate, a problem-solver, and a reassuring voice that says, “You’ve got this, and I’ve got you.”
What sets Simply Grand Events apart is my deep commitment to helping couples get married their way — not the way they think they’re “supposed to.” Whether that means ditching outdated traditions, embracing a short guest list, or eloping on a whim, I’m here for it.
I’m most proud of the peace of mind I give my clients. There’s nothing better than seeing a couple fully present, soaking in every moment, because they know the details are taken care of.

What’s been the best source of new clients for you?
The best source of new clients for me has consistently been word-of-mouth referrals. There’s something incredibly powerful about a past client — or even a fellow vendor — enthusiastically sharing their experience with someone else. It builds instant trust and often means the couple already feels confident before we’ve even had our first conversation.
In today’s world, that “word of mouth” also includes online reviews. I’ve found that when clients take the time to share honest feedback about their wedding day and how I supported them through it, it not only helps new couples get a feel for what it’s like to work with me — it also reinforces the heart of my brand: calm, capable, and genuinely invested in each celebration.
Those real stories and five-star reviews are like gold — they validate my work, extend my reach, and connect me with more couples who value a stress-free, meaningful wedding day.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Building my audience on social media has been a slow and steady process — and honestly, I’m still building. I haven’t gone viral or cracked any magical code, but I’m striving to stay consistent, intentional, and most importantly, real. I show up as myself, share what I know, and focus on connecting with the kind of couples I want to serve.
If I could give one piece of advice to anyone starting to grow their social media presence, it would be this: don’t try to imitate anyone else. There’s already someone doing their version of things — what your audience needs is you. Your story, your voice, your approach. People can sense authenticity, and that’s what builds trust over time.
Whether I’m posting behind-the-scenes moments, sharing wedding tips, or talking about elopements and timelines, I try to make sure it reflects who I really am — not just what the algorithm wants. That’s what turns followers into clients.
