We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tammy McBride a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Tammy, appreciate you joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
I’ve written a book of my financial struggles that I’ve been through and how God has blessed me out of those valleys. I wrote the book to inspire others to have faith to believe for spiritual help in their struggles. I’ve taken on my story as my ministry to witness to the goodness of God.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
I was born and raised in the country. Came from humble beginnings and left to serve in the US Air Force a month after graduating high school in 1982. I served in the military for 23 years and upon retiring, thought I’d go on with life but unfortunately I went an extended period of time having difficulty in finding employment. This lack of employment led me into a financial valley that tested and grew my faith in God to trust Him more for improvement of my situation. I became more devoted in consistently spending time in His Word and eventually the change came. My faith was increased and my financial situation was turned around to good. It led to my writing a book about my faith-walk with God.
I’m grateful that I didn’t “throw in the towel” but continued to believe in God. I want to inspire others to do the same. As a believer, God had given us everything we need to succeed on Earth. We just have to trust Him, take Him at His Word, and be patient. He already promised His faithfulness.
Can you share a story from your journey that illustrates your resilience?
The almost 13-month delay in finding employment after retiring from the military took a toll on my finances in that as I was job searching, I eventually had to dip into my savings to account for my debt obligations that were still needing to be addressed. As the years passed, I found myself struggling more and more. Then in January 2019, after I was tired of struggling, I made the decision to seriously take God at His Word to believe and consistently meditate on it by speaking it back to Him daily. My resilience came when I was speaking His Word daily without fail, although the situation “seemed” to remain the same. But after SEVEN months of just returning God’s Word back to Him, even at times when I didn’t feel like it or didn’t think it was making a difference, the manifestation came. That manifestation of a change in my financial situation, that ONE act of manifestation, turned my financial situation around July 2019 and I’ve not had a financial stressor to this day!
Is there a particular goal or mission driving your creative journey?
My sole purpose in writing my book, The WORD Works…If You Work IT! From Poverty to PROMISE, was to share my journey with others (believers and those YET to believe) so that their faith would be increased to believe God for the betterment of whatever their situation is.
