Tammy, appreciate you joining us today. One of the things we most admire about small businesses is their ability to diverge from the corporate/industry standard. Is there something that you or your brand do that differs from the industry standard? We’d love to hear about it as well as any stories you might have that illustrate how or why this difference matters.
At ClandestineMood, we saw a gap in the traditional wellness event space. Many events felt formulaic and catered to a broad audience. We wanted to create something truly unique and special.
That’s why we pioneered the concept of “clandestine wellness experiences.” These exclusive events, designed specifically for women, take place in unexpected locations and are announced just 24 hours before the event. This element of surprise and exclusivity fosters a sense of community and excitement.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.
I used to work for a big (the biggest) international sports retail brand and I came up with an idea. I wanted to deliver special experiences and massive sporty parties instead of the typical races or marathons that are repeated every year. I wanted to add value not only to celebrities, editors and influencers, but to mix them up with the final consumer.
Clandestinemood was born in Madrid (Spain) as a crazy alternative to conventional sporting events. It began as the organization of clandestine wellness events only for women, in completely unexpected locations, announced 24 hours before the big day. Today, we are present in Madrid, Barcelona, Ibiza, Marbella, Miami and New York, with views of expanding to Milano and Mexico.
Its maximum expression takes place in CLANDESTINEMOOD SPORTY PARTIES: A unique wellness experience only for women, with live music in a secret one-time location. All Clandestinemood experiences have an essence, communication and style based on a sophisticated, and curated image, in which anonymity is maintained until the end.
I am really proud of my team’s work ethic. We work out asses off and have partnered with the best international brands in the industry to elevate their brand and create unique wellness and secret experiences that have our main characters.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I had a vision and I am very stubborn. I kew that there was a future in this brand beyond throwing incredible sporty parties in Madrid and Barcelona, so I packed my bags and decided to expand my brand to the US.
The land of FOMO and opportunities could not be a better decision. My partner and I started from scratch all over again. We didnt have any connections in Miami and we contacted, cold called, brands, media, searched for locations…
Today, we are being reached by Luxury Hotels, international brands and, dont get me wrong, we are still in a growing phase, but we have made a name in the Magic City.
Have you ever had to pivot?
My best pivot story is that I got my degree in Law and actually became a diplomat working for the Spanish Consulate in San Francisco by the age of 25. I knew that was not my thing so I joined a creative school that blew my mind. I used to be a professional athlete so I joined my 2 passions: Sports/wellness and marketing. And boom!
