Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammy Bardwell. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tammy , looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What do you think it takes to be successful?
From experience, success is like a recipe. Begin with a brand and vision that is different from the world around you. Stir in a wonderful and creative hardworking team that believe in the mission of the company. Add in passion and out-of-the-box thinking. And the secret sauce is a husband and family that continues to support and build the company with me.

Tammy , before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
My business, Studio Bella For Kids, began for my kids. With a teaching background and a master’s degree in design, I started hosting summer camps in my backyard back in 2008. Fast forward 14 years, and we have grown into a progressive arts and enrichment studio that fuses the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math with the creative problem solving process. We serve kids of all ages and encourage their passions and interests.
Our teachers guide and instruct at both public and private schools throughout the metroplex during the school day and after school. At our studio in East Dallas hosts birthday parties and Girl Scout badge and Journey workshops. And when school is not in session, we continue to host camps-summer camps, holiday camps and more! In total, we serve approximately 400 kids per week!
Virtually, we have expanded to as far as the state of Maryland, and through grant work, we continue to serve the underserved.
What sets us apart from others? The ability to evolve and grow with what the world puts at our doorstep.
Our proudest moments are when we see those lightbulbs turn on – when kids grasp the art of conceptual problem solving process through their creativity and their skills grow!
We hope to guide more kids that love the creative process!
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
We had to pivot like many other people during the pandemic. Schools were closed, so we went virtual and created kits.We hosted outside and private camps. In the fall of 2020, Studio Bella hosted pods for working parents. Students brought their iPads to our studio and logged into school. That was a learning experience for everyone!

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?
Our reputation was built by the awareness of our creativity, hardwork outstanding customer service. And building the business in East Dallas has been important with a loyal fan base!
