We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tammie Lowe. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tammie below.
Hi Tammie, thanks for joining us today. One of the toughest things about progressing in your career is that there are almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
The biggest unexpected problem I faced was building my business during COVID-19. At the beginning of 2019, I had only closed 3 real estate deals and thought to myself that I had failed myself. However, unfortunately, at the beginning of 2020, the World Health Organization declared that we were officially in a Pandemic. Once I heard this, I thought, ” Oh my goodness, what will happen to my business?” I had worked so hard to gain many potential clients; now, we are in a pandemic.
My inner voice said to myself, ” No, Tammie, sometimes when there is a crisis going on, many leaders build their brand.” And so I did. It was unfortunate that so many people lost their lives and also their loved ones; However, I was able to help so many people find a safe haven by getting them to see the benefit of owning a home. This event was unexpected, but my mother always told me, “What won’t kill you will make you stronger,” and so it did.
I was able to build my negotiation skills during the Pandemic because, at that time, the rates were so low that it created a tremendous bidding war around the country. This unexpected event molded me into the Real Estate agent I am today because I stepped out on faith and was willing to help those families that other realtors did not want help during those trying times. This was a risk because I was putting my life on the line. Still, I had an obligation to help those families safeguard their families by moving out to the suburbs to get away and have peace of mind, along with protecting their families from the pandemic. This was such a rewarding time in my life, considering the circumstances under which I became the master of my game.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I was involved in real estate in 2008 when I started rehabbing homes with a business partner I had then; However, it did not go well for me. I had invested much money and lost a lot in real Estate. However, at that time, the real estate market crashed, and it caused me to leave the industry and pursue a science degree in bioscience.
I have a serious work ethic, which causes me to over-push myself to the limit. You have to stay motivated and disciplined by aligning yourself with like-minded people. I’d like to make sure that I’m attending. Continuing Education Classes so that I can remain up-to-date with any changes in real Estate
