Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tammara J Banks. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tammara J, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. One of the toughest things about entrepreneurship is that there is almost always unexpected problems that come up – problems that you often can’t read about in advance, can’t prepare for, etc. Have you had such and experience and if so, can you tell us the story of one of those unexpected problems you’ve encountered?
Starting a business as a style coach can be an exciting but challenging journey. Being prepared for unexpected problems and having strategies in place to address them can help you navigate your first year successfully. My first three years were extremely difficult. For years I shared tips for free online and styled people for free as a hobby because I honestly loved doing it; so when I took it seriously going from a hobby to a business it was hard building a client base. Finding clients can be more difficult than anticipated. You might have great styling skills, but without clients, your business cannot thrive. My messaging wasn’t clear because I was trying to please everybody instead of honing in on my ideal clients. I finally stepped back from the business to focus on my own personal development. I spent a lot of time with myself and God. Doing this gave me a sense of my identity, the impact, and the relevance I bring to this arena. My confidence in what God put in me became my driving force. If God be for you who can be against me? I give myself the grace I would give others. I’m enjoying the journey and I believe what; ‘s for me will be, and it will surely come to pass. This mindset doesn’t put pressure on me to do more, it allows me to take the lessons and become better at doing what I was created to do for God’s purposes
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

This is not a Job or a business. This is why I was created. I am being fulfilled watching others transform into who God created them to be. I learn more about who I am with each client as I assist them with their generalized needs. So it becomes an eco-system of reciprocity; what I give comes back to me multiplied, giving me the freedom to provide more,
I want women to experience the BAWSE Life! Being a BAWSE is more of a mindset, how you feel, how you look, and how you dress, How you make others feel, making it a BAWSE Lifestyle.” – Tammara

Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
I had no idea how to start, run, or scale a business. I am a first-generation entrepreneur. I didn’t even dream about being a business owner I just knew I had this undeniable talent God gifted me with. First-time entrepreneurs focus on money and getting revenue. Let’s be clear money is a resource, but if you are a KINGDOM Entrepreneur God is our source. I was chasing money instead of chasing the God who gave me the talent. When I realized what the root of my stagnation was, I had to shift my mindset to partner with God on strategies to build impact for the KINGDOM as well as legacy and wealth for my family. I think this and should always be the goal(BIGGER PICTURE)
Can you tell us about a time you’ve had to pivot?
My Mom was diagnosed with Dementia in 2019, I had to become her mother overnight without warning. I had moved to a new state seeking change while going through a divorce. My life felt so chaotic. I learned so much about myself, God, and who my mother was as an individual not just my mom. This experience has been tough, frustrating, hurtful, disappointing, scary, and annoying, but yet by far the most beautiful experience outside of giving birth to my two boys I’ve ever witnessed in my 44 years of life. There’s this peace beyond my understanding that fills my soul. I had to shut my business down completely in different seasons because my mother took cadence over anything. God has supplied all our needs so that I could pour into her, that was his design I humbled and submitted to his plan for this particular time in our lives. As I’m doing this interview she is in a Hospice House with only a few weeks to live. This is resilience in motion.
