We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Tamisha Good a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamisha, thanks for joining us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
Our mission is to add value, skill, and knowledge to the healthcare industry by providing quality training to future healthcare providers and the communities we serve.
This mission started by recognizing a need for further cardiovascular health education to minority communities with a focus on providing cpr training. This quickly grew as I realized we had the ability to provoke the minds of young adults who attended our classes. With that in mind, additional classes were added to serve communities interested in furthering their knowledge base and starting entry level healthcare careers.
It brings great pride and fulfillment to see the positive change we bring to our students lives.

Tamisha, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am a Florida resident and New York native. I have been a nurse, both as a registered nurse and licensed practical nurse for nearly twenty years.
My business first started out as a cpr and first aid training service, motivated by real life. My husband, at the time fiance, suffered a major heart attack that would later affect me in ways that I did not the understand.
As my business started to grow, I fell in love with teaching and sharing my experiences both professionally and personally. Realizing I had the ability to touch and impact young versions of myself I expanded the business to add entry level certification trainings. In addition, many of my nursing peers have also sought to pursue other ways to utilize their nursing license and professional background. In recognizing a need to help other nurses start cpr businesses, I also teach train the trainer courses, as well as offer cpr coaching and consulting.
Today I am humbled by my business journey. Concierge Healthcare Training Services now offers multiple courses: cpr, cpr train the trainer, cna exam prep, phlebotomy exam prep, iv skills & certification, medication administration, ekg, and have also partnered with a local small business to offer online medical billing and coding.
I believe what sets me apart from other small businesses is that I can relate to real life struggles that some of my students face. Having been in many of their shoes, facing being a single mother, financial burderns, transportation, and family, I truly want to help what I have coined as “young Tamsha’s” to see that with hard work, dedication, and sacrifice anything is possible.
We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
Being a clinical nurse, I was trained to be task oriented. I served my patients by being familiar with medical illnesses, disease processes, treatment and medications. Combined with being task oriented and the ability to critical think can make you a great nurse.
As a business owner, I had to retrain my way of thinking. I no longer was fulfilling tasks, rather I was creating, implementing, and evaluating. I had to learn how to become a business owner, and how to think multi-dimensional, by having a complete mind shift.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I have built my social media audience by being consistent in my presence. I make sure to show up everyday. I want Concierge Healthcare Training Services to be in my audience’s feed or timeline every day, so that when they are offline and someone mentions cpr, cna, or phlebotomy, they think of my and my business. In a digital age and society, newer smaller businesses must have a social media presence. My best advice is to consistently show up.
