We recently connected with Tamisa Hunter and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamisa, thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
My mission is important to me because it represents more than just personal triumph over adversity; it embodies the transformative power of resilience, strength, and faith. Everything I have been through has shaped me into a living testament to a woman’s ability to endure and overcome. Personal Growth and Transformation is important. My journey has been a crucible for personal growth and transformation. Through the challenges I have faced, I have evolved into a stronger, more resilient woman. I am learning to rest in the peace and fact that I am the Woman that God has designed me to be. My mission reflects a commitment to continual self-improvement and a determination to turn my pain into purpose.
My story serves as a beacon of hope for others facing adversity. By sharing my experiences and triumphs, I inspire those who may be in similar situations, showing them that it is possible to overcome insurmountable challenges. My mission has the potential to uplift and empower others on their own journeys. My foundational scripture if Revelation 12:11 “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.” This verse became my personal anchor, a source of strength that fueled my resilience to push myself forward, even when the world seemed to not understand my battle or me for that matter. The more I share my story, the more my mission becomes clear to why I do what I do. It allows me to connect and express empathy with the next person who has shared some of the hardships of life. I understand the struggles others face, and my mission becomes a way to connect with people on a profound level. This shared understanding fosters a sense of community and support.
Despite the difficulties, my mission gives my life a sense of purpose and meaning. It goes beyond the idea of merely surviving; it is about thriving and making a positive impact on the world.
My mission is tied to my faith and spirituality, it becomes a manifestation of my relationship with God. My journey, guided by my foundational scripture (Revelations 12:11), is just a testament to the grace and strength I believe has sustained me through the darkest times.
My mission might be motivated by a desire to break the cycle of hardship and adversity that we as people have experienced. By sharing my story and advocating for change, I contribute to creating a better future for myself and others.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tamisa Hunter and here’s a glimpse of my journey—a testament to resilience, faith, and the transformative power of overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges. My life’s narrative has been shaped by a series of trials that have tested the limits of my strength and endurance. From enduring domestic violence, rejection, and the depths of depression to facing the darkness of suicidal thoughts, sexual abuse, and homelessness, my path has been one of profound struggle.
In the shadows of the streets, where survival became a daily struggle, I found myself navigating a path I had never imagined—an abusive relationship. The desperation to endure, to find solace, led me to a place where I compromised my own well-being and chose someone else over myself. It was a perilous journey where the consequences of my choices entangled me in a relationship that began to define my very existence.
The scars of bullying, deceit, and the heartbreak of betrayal followed me from grade school to high school to adulthood, creating a battleground where I fought for my sense of self-worth and identity. The weight of these adversities was unimaginable, but life had more challenges in store.
A life-altering moment occurred when I was paralyzed from the waist down, a physical manifestation of the burdens I carried. Multiple hospitalizations brought me to the edge of mortality, each near-death experience underscoring the fragility of life.
One fateful day, I survived a car accident that saw my vehicle somersaulting multiple times on a rain-soaked highway. Despite the wreckage and the odds stacked against me, I emerged alive, leaving medical professionals astounded at my resilience.
In the relentless pursuit of survival, I inadvertently surrendered pieces of myself to a connection that should never have taken precedence over my own well-being. The relationship became a defining force, shaping my identity in ways that were not authentic to who I truly was. I became entwined in a narrative where choosing my abuser, the streets and whatever or whoever, would love me the way I thought love should be, it took precedence over choosing myself. It was a journey of self-discovery tinged with pain and realization. The relationship, once a source of misguided comfort, became a mirror reflecting a distorted image of who I was meant to be.
As I reflect on these chapters of my life, I recognize the profound impact it had on my sense of self-worth and the direction of my journey. It’s a painful acknowledgment of veering away from the path I was meant to tread, a journey of rediscovering the strength to reclaim my identity and break free from the chains that bound me.
This part of my story is a testament to the transformative power of self-awareness and the courage required to break free from toxic ties. It’s a reminder that, even in the darkest corners, there exists a resilience within us waiting to be unearthed, guiding us back to the path of self-love and empowerment.
In the face of this relentless storm, my anchor became the foundation scripture of Revelations 12:11: “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.” This verse has been my guiding light, a source of strength that has sustained me through the darkest chapters of my life.
This led me into ministry. Having faced significant challenges—domestic violence, homelessness, and a myriad of personal struggles—I found solace, strength, and purpose in my faith. As I navigated the seas of adversity, I discovered that my spiritual beliefs were an anchor, providing comfort and guidance. It was during these trying times that my relationship with God deepened, and I began to feel a calling—an undeniable pull towards something greater than myself.
The transformative power of my faith became evident as I started to overcome the obstacles that once seemed insurmountable. The more I embraced my spirituality, the more I felt a sense of responsibility to share the hope and resilience that I found in my own journey with others.
The turning point came when I realized that my experiences, though painful, could serve a higher purpose. Through ministry, I could use my story as a testimony—a testament to the grace of God and the potential for profound change even in the darkest of circumstances.
It was not a decision made lightly; rather, it was a response to an internal calling, a divine whisper urging me to use my experiences to uplift and guide others who may be navigating their own storms. Ministry, for me, is an extension of the healing I received and a commitment to being a source of support and inspiration for those who may feel lost or broken.
