Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tamira Perkins. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tamira, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. So, naming is such a challenge. How did you come up with the name of your brand?
The name T’s Hair Dreams is very simple to explain. My first name starts with the letter T,and my daughter’s name is Dream. I wanted to include both our names in my business and that’s what I came up with.
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I started my business a few years ago because of my daughter. My daughter has a certain hair texture that always seem to look dry and lack moisture. I tried plenty of items on the market and nothing seemed to work. I did some research and started my own product line dedicated to adding moisture, and growing hair. I haven seen a major difference in the over all health of my daughters hair. All products can be purchased at www.tshairdreams.com
How’d you meet your business partner?
This is an easy one lol. My Co Founder is actually my daughter. I wanted to give her something to look up to. Since we started our business, she has came with so many ideas. Her goal when she gets older is to have her own bakery
What else should we know about how you took your side hustle and scaled it up into what it is today?
Braiding hair use to be just a hobby I started in high school. After graduating I decided I wanted to attend cosmetology school to get my license. I tried working in salons after graduating cosmetology school but didn’t have enough clientele and put being a hair stylist on the back burner. After many career paths that didn’t fit my passion I returned to being a hair stylist. I started my hair care line the years ago and I’m glad I did. Our number one selling product is it growth serum. I have been doing hair for six years and have a steady clientele.
