We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tamiko Lowry Pugh. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tamiko below.
Alright, Tamiko thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission the drives your brand?
My mission is to empower women to shift their limiting beliefs so they can tap into their divine purpose, ignite their confidence, and fearlessly walk in their authentic power.
I genuinely believe that the adversities we experience in life are meant to prepare and push us into our purpose. After escaping a mentally, verbally, financially, and at times physically abusive relationship, I hit rock bottom. I was mentally and emotionally broken and financially broke.
I had no idea that something so painful and traumatic would push me into my life purpose. I had no idea that I’d be a frontline domestic violence advocate, serving as the founder of my own non-profit organization focusing on domestic violence advocacy, awareness, and prevention. I had no idea that my past adversities would position me to become the CEO of my very own successful coaching company and business academy, which empowers women to use their life experiences, and stories to create transformational businesses of their own.
As a survivor of Domestic Violence, I am very transparent about my healing journey. This has allowed me to construct a powerful movement dedicated to the empowerment and personal development of women across the world.
Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers
As the Chief Empowerment Officer of Living The Empowered Life LLC, my courses, events, and programs empower women to shift their limiting beliefs so they can tap into their divine purpose, ignite their confidence, and fearlessly walk in their authentic power. In addition, Living The Empowered Life Academy helps women use the expertise they already have, combined with their life experiences and story, to create transformational businesses that make money and make a difference.
My signature programs include Coach For Purpose + Profit, The Six-Figure Coaching Bootcamp, Living The Empowered Life Coaching Program, and the Radical Shifts Masterclass.
I really enjoy what I do. I’ve built my business based on my own personal experiences, story and the expertise that I’ve gained over the years. I teach my clients and students to do the same.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
Social Media presence is very key to any business. It’s how I built my audience and loyal followers. One of the key items in building my following was my transparency. Being transparent, open, and honest about my journey allowed my followers to trust me. People do business with those they know, like, and trust. You build this through being transparent and sharing your personal challenges, fears, hopes, dreams, and desires. In addition to being transparent, it’s important to offer a solution to your follower’s problems. It’s not always about selling but more about serving.
Here’s an easy rule that I follow for social media.
1. Inspire: Post something to inspire your audience. A quote, short video, inspirational graphic.
2. Inform: Post something that will inform or educate your target audience on their challenges.
3. Invitation: Invite them to work with you.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
One lesson that I had to unlearn was learning to ask for help. In the beginning, I was not asking for help or seeking coaching and mentorship when I needed it. Instead, I tried to do it all on my own.
A mentor shares their knowledge, skills, and experience to help another develop and grow. While a coach is someone who provides guidance on your goals and helps you reach your full potential. Skipping out on these early in my career caused a lot of unnecessary challenges and frustrations that could have been avoided.
I’ve grown to realize that there are people out there who have already walked your journey who are willing to help you along the way. Seek out mentorship from someone you admire or who has already walked the road you are walking. It will save you a lot of time and make your journey a lot easier.
