Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to TAMIKA PAIGE. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Alright, TAMIKA thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Serving is not beneath me, it’s actually my super power. Our mission is based on the famous quote by Henry Cloud: “Always leave things better than you found them; especially people”. I take pride in being a woman other women can trust. The Paige Group Foundation holds the belief that everyone deserves equal opportunities to achieve their full potential. We do this with a Collaborative Impact approach in theory and in practice. We are the glue to the community! Our mission is to empower and uplift our community by addressing its most pressing needs through workforce development, advocacy, workshops, community outreach and collaborative efforts, innovative programs, and sustainable solutions. We strive to foster positive change, enhance quality of life, and create a strong sense of unity and belonging among community members regardless of family income, race, ethnicity, or ability.
TAMIKA, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
From an early stage in my life, I recognized my passion for inspiring, uplifting, and honoring women, embracing womanhood, and acknowledging the divine strength within us. I am proud to have established the Paige Group Foundation, a 501c3 dedicated to advocating and providing services in the areas of relationships, community engagement, mental health, and life & career coaching. Guided by the Paige Group Foundation, S.H.E. She Has Experience was conceived—a platform offering women a secure environment to connect, collaborate, and celebrate each other, while guiding one another through life’s journey, one shared experience at a time. We are most proud of our initiative during the past three years, during Women’s History Month, we have utilized the opportunity to showcase the transformative impact of collaboration and collective empowerment when like-minded women join forces to celebrate one another.
“We Are The Glue”, the Paige Group Foundation is the driving force behind S.H.E., I lead a dynamic community of over 400 women who annually gather to commemorate Women’s History Month. Our impactful initiatives extend across the East Coast, culminating in the creation of the bestselling anthology, “Seeing Myself in HER STORY,” and the recent successful hosting of the “SHE: She Has Experience” Gala hosted at MGM National Harbor. This event featured many extraordinary women, including the renowned musical sensation Lil Mo’, and prominent female figures from the Mid-Atlantic region. At the core of our endeavors lies a thematic focus on hope and healing. Recognizing the strength in numbers, the concept of a collective vision board art piece emerged, “Piece by Peace” symbolizing a unified visualization of our shared desires. This collaborative endeavor celebrates the commonalities in the challenges and dreams women share. Over 54 women from our Paige Group Foundation community contributed to that 2022 Women’s History Month project currently housed at Busboys & Poets Anacostia in Washington, DC. We promise to continue to be the trailblazers creating safe spaces to connect, collaborate, and cultivate. We are forward thinkers of service.
Let’s talk about resilience next – do you have a story you can share with us?
As a domestic violence survivor and not having a space to feel safe pushing through is first nature. To me, resilience means you experience, you feel, you fail, you hurt, and you keep going”. I recognized the need to nurture what was absent in my life. I’m a firm believer in whatever you are not changing you are choosing. I choose to create healthy long lasting relationships and life experiences through my commitment to community work. Determined to change the narrative and defy societal norms, I proudly declare, “I am She, and She is Her.” Safe spaces exist because I create them.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
The Page Group Foundation’s mission is deeply rooted in heart, hard work, and passion. We were committed to providing services a decade before officially attaining our 501C3 nonprofit status. Taking a thoughtful pause, I needed to align and organize my business affairs to embark on a journey of rebranding and emerging anew.
