Tamika & Kimynn, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. What was it like going from idea to execution? Can you share some of the backstory and some of the major steps or milestones?

The execution always starts with a great idea and design which comes from Kimlynn Archie CEO and Owner of Pettywear. After the perfect idea and design Tamika Archie COO and Co- Owner executes it in production. I put the finishing touches on the brand design so it comes to life for to catch the eye of current and new supporters.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?

Hi I am Stormii Knights and I am the creator of the clothing brand Petty Wear. It all started on my birthday October 21, 2021; I brought the idea to my wife about creating a tshirt line. My wife, Tamika COO, thought it was an amazing idea. I immediately came up with a logo. She retired to bed and when she woke up the next morning Petty Wear was born. I decided to use a dragon for the logo because it’s a symbol of power, wisdom and hidden knowledge, which is the embodiment of Petty Wear. When someone wears PettyWear, I want that person to project confidence unapologetically to be who they want to be! Love yourself for you are and who you will become.
What set us apart from the rest is that we strive to give our customers what you don’t see everyday but is everyday wear. It’s durable, comfortable and we don’t offer alot of the same designs, so our customers can stay unique.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?

As children we are taught things, according to how someone else perceives it. For example, as a kid, some of us aren’t taught to have our own voices and as time progress, we remain that timid, only to become a comforming individual. I retrained my brain to think outside of the constraints that the world put me in. I had to learn that being different is ok and doing things my way is what’s most important.

How’d you meet your business partner?

My business partner is my wife, Tamika Archie. In 2019 we birthed NuVysion Media Group by utilizing some of her life stories in creating a web series, Behind Closed Doors and in 2019 my wife came up with the idea of putting her DIY Crafting skills to use to help obtain revenue for the business. (Props, venues, film equipment…etc) With my extensive graphic arts design knowledge and my wife’s ability to bring my ideas to light in production on jackets, shirts, hoodies, joggers, pants, boxers, etc she has made the process more seamless which allows me to be more creative with my designs. I look at it as one person I’m the neck and the head that creates and she is body that executes the production for PettyWear to come together. Without the head the body has nothing to produce and without the body the head will just have ideas piling without execution. One cannot work without the other and that’s what we both mean to each other with our business.
