We recently connected with Tamika Harris and have shared our conversation below.

Tamika, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. I’m sure there have been days where the challenges of being a business owner force you to think about what it would be like to just have a regular job. When’s the last time you felt that way? Did you have any insights from the experience?

I’m happy to be a business owner, being a business owner is nowhere near having an regular job. You honestly can make your own schedule when you run your own business, you get to pick your own work environment & you get to decide on what type of clientele you would want to work with, A few months ago I thought about the time when I worked two jobs at once and wasn’t happy at either one of them, just about every job that I’ve ever had there has always been problems with staying on the job for a long period of time due to personal inconveniences, poor management, company rules & policies. In this generation most employers don’t really appreciate their employees and your hard work and dedication constantly gets overlooked. Many days and nights I stayed up working on my future plans to change my situation.

Tamika, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?

My name is Tamika Harris I hold the title as an local entrepreneur that’s a jack of many trades. I’m from a small town in North Carolina called “Walstonburg” . In the year of 2017 I graduated from Greene Central High. Later on after, I took the next step on advancing my studies in Accounting/Bookkeeping which led me to start my own company Above The Rim Business & Financial Solutions, LLC located in Greenville North Carolina. My company is a Financial Consulting Company that offers Tax Prep, Business Registration, Tax Classes & Tax Software Training, Bookkeeping, Credit Repair , Building Business Credit, Grant Writing assistance, Business Funding Assistance, Personal Funding Assistance along with Notary Public along with many more services. I work as a work full time as a bail bonding agent for the company Set Em’ Free Bail Bonding Company, LLC for owner/operator Mr. Chris Haddock located in Greenville. I have been working for this company for over 2 1/2 years and I love every moment of it. Giving others a second chance for freedom again is a great opportunity since I’ve been able to help many families bring their loved ones back at one again, many individuals look up to me and always ask me for help knowing that I will lead them in the right direction for success with the resources I have to offer. It’s always a pleasure to serve my community.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

Doing good business is always a plus no matter what never let your client feel unsatisfied at all, when you carry yourself as a professional should and always be respectful to others will get you a long way with hundreds of loyal clients.

How’d you meet your business partner?

By doing my research for over a year I found my forever home to preform the acts of a Bail Bonding agent. I always tell anyone that’s looking into steering into a new career/business of any kind always do your research to make sure that it’s something that you’ll want to do and also educating yourself. As of today we have built a good business relationship.
