We were lucky to catch up with Tamika Davis recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tamika, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Do you think folks should manage their own social media or hire a professional? What do you do?
Currently I manage my own social media which is a lot of work. I like to learn things on my own first and make sure I understand it that way if I ever hire someone I know what it is that they’re supposed to be doing. It most definitely would be easier with a manager and I’m pretty sure I would have a lot more content. It’s difficult to sit down and create content for me, but I have been getting better at it.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
My name is Tamika Davis, I am a Air Force veteran with 20 years prior service, I am a wife, a mother and a yaya:)
I was introduced to a nutrition club that offered meal replacement shakes and loaded energy teas and I just thought that was the greatest idea for people like me that’s always on the go and don’t really have time to eat which means normally you’re grabbing something unhealthy and quick, but with the nutrition club you can grab something quick that taste great, filling and it’s healthy! Immediately I felt like that should be an option on every corner just like a burger place and I knew I wanted to open one. I was diagnosed with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) which makes it difficult to lose weight amongst other things, so I’m always looking for ways to live a healthier lifestyle without feeling like I’m starving myself.
I love helping others achieve their goals and I feel like my nutrition shop helps those that are trying to lose weight or maintain and stay on track.

How’d you build such a strong reputation within your market?
Word of mouth and customer reviews has helped greatly! I also run social media ads.

What’s worked well for you in terms of a source for new clients?
Attending different local events and networking at local gyms
