We recently connected with Tameshia King and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tameshia, thanks for joining us today. Let’s start with something countless entrepreneurs have had to figure out on the fly – how have you dealt with the rise of remote work?
As you know, over the past 3 years, times have been extremely rough. Not only for personal but business wise especially. Since the shut down, thinking of creative ways to stay relevant was the main goal for many of us entrepreneurs. I went from going customer to customer (C2C) to business to business (B2B). Many will say, I’m lucky. But in reality, I have placed in numerous amount of hours into my business. Thinking bigger…….I thought “Corporate”. What can I do to keep customers buying without me opening a brick and mortar. I worked extremely hard, promoting my business and customer reviews day by day. Soon, corporations like Walmart reached out. That is when my journey really began. Going remote, opened my eyes to bigger opportunities.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Started my brand with no job in 2018, expanded in 2019. All off personal income, no loans, no huge contribution from family or friends, Kings bundle started out as a hair company, has now transformed into a 6 figure herbal and beauty company. We are growing, learning, and thriving day by day. Right now I only have 6 employees (including self). There are times when I believe I am moving to fast. Times when I feel like no one is listening or understanding me. I wake up every morning and do better than the day before, only to get further for the day ahead.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
The consistency with the corporations I partner with. From the start, I wasn’t a huge social media guru. I don’t have a tone of friends and I do not have a fan base that generically follows me. I grabbed the attention of other small businesses and large corporations. I am able to build my own website, create my own apps, flyers, products and more. They would reach out for advice or partnerships, which drew their crowd to me and so on. Being loyal to my B2B customers, is what makes my C2C ratio grow.

Do you have any insights you can share related to maintaining high team morale?
Finding people that’s truly passionate and really want to work is hard. I have personally went through so many people that wanted to be apart of the growth and they all tapped out, half stepped, or wont do anything at all but want a paycheck. The team I have now is extremely diverse and talented. They complete their tasks in a timely matter and never disappoint. I’ve even shared my sources with other business owners because if I win, we all win! My advice will be, always hire a diverse team, and never hire family. (at least not at start up)
