We recently connected with Tamesha Coleman and have shared our conversation below.

Tamesha, thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. Naming anything – including a business – is so hard. Right? What’s the story behind how you came up with the name of your brand?

Mesha The Hollywood Fashionista stemmed from people calling me Hollywood growing up because of how I carried myself and how I dressed. The Fashionista part came from me adding elegance and because I’m big on fashion. It all just came together and was elegant because it represented who I am and how I have always carried myself my entire life.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers

Getting to know Mesha The Hollywood Fashionista is an open book. I am a guru when it comes to fashion. I have been into fashion since the age of 12. I have always been able to put prints and colors together and make them emerge. As I got older people would always ask why didn’t I model or why wouldn’t I do what I was blessed to do and style people. I sort of put it off as, people not into being styled. As time went by, I began to see people on different social media apps asking for a stylist. I also had coworkers who would ask me to style them or ask for fashion advice daily. One day, I just decided I’m going to do what I love and start a business as a Fashion Stylists.
Mesha The Hollywood Fashionista offers several different options of styling for men and women. I style for photo shoots, birthday events, red carpet events, wedding parties (bridal/groom), corporate events, celebrities, personal shopper, wardrobe revamping and etc.
My clients issues are not their issues. I take all of the issues off their hands. My clients do not have to dwell on any styling issues. My job is to take the stress off my clients. What sets me apart from other fashion stylist; is being knowledgeable on fashion (prints, colors, newest fashion and etc.). study my clients and I know what will or will not accentuate their figure. I make sure I have a clear understandable communicative relationship with my clients at all times. I make sure my clients get the HOLLYWOOD EXPERIENCE!
My most proud and main thing I would like for my clients, followers, readers and potential clients to know is I have been a fashion guru since 12 years old. I will always make you feel confident, comfortable and a fashionista at any point of life I style you. Your confidence will be through the roof. As Rachel Zoe stated; “Style is a way of saying who you are without having to speak.” My motto is: “Let me make you look GRAND……HOLLYWOOD STYLE!”

Any insights you can share with us about how you built up your social media presence?

I built my audience from always posting my outfits daily. I would have family and friends share my photos or posts. I eventually decided to make a business page and continued every day broadcasting my business. I also decided to do brand ambassadors as well to build up my audience. The advice I have for upcoming business owners building a social media presence; DON’T GIVE UP! You will have days you feel like no one is paying attention but there is always someone watching. Advertise, Advertise and ADVERTISE! You have to be an advocate for yourself, if you want others to notice you. Put yourself out there; share your business in business groups as well.

Any stories or insights that might help us understand how you’ve built such a strong reputation?

What helped me build my reputation within marketing, is that people knew my craft already. I was not jumping into a business I had no reliable source to back me up. Everybody knew I was a fashionista for years. My reputation was already valid for many but that helped with those who didn’t know anything about me in other states outside of Tennessee. People I grew up with, met in college, coworkers and from traveling: this helped me build my business. Word of mouth is everything; especially positive feedback.
