We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tamera Foreman. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tamera below.
Tamera , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
Hi Guys and Gals, I am Tamera Foreman, COO of Klassic Kare Co. I am in partnership with my 17 year old daughter Brandalynn Wofford (CEO) who is currently a senior graduating from Lancaster High school June 2022. We created Klassic Kare in June 2020 due to her very sensitive skin, every type of lotion or skin care product she would use would cause her to break out or cause her to have tremendously dry skin. We begin to research all natural products and the ingredients that would not only moisturize but hydrate the skin as well. We found a raw shea butter that is imported from Ghana and with a compound of other natural ingredients it made the perfect combination that we were looking for and this was definitely worth sharing with the world. I mean honestly Klassic Kare products are the best thing that has ever happened to us. Our products are made with 100% all natural ingredients that will leave your skin looking and feeling revived . They are filled with premium essential oils and vitamin E to help nourish and protect your skin from damage. What I am most excited about is not only is Klassic Kare products affordable but they target all races, ages and gender.
Tamera , love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
So who is Tamera Foreman, most people know me as Tam Bam, I am a mother of 3, I am a 3 time published plus model, I own 2 businesses; Klassic Klaws by Tam Bam and Klassic Kare Co. Growing up I was the shy kid, I was always taller or larger than the other children around me and it caused me to develop a complex about myself. It wasn’t until I graduated high school and became a dental assistant that I began to come out of my shell. Being a dental assistant you have to be very personable and conversational to make sure the patient is comfortable in order to gain their trust, which is what helped build my confidence. Over the course of 12 years I worked with a large diverse group of people and this is what showed me that all people are different and you can become whatever it is you want to be in life. I said all that to say my past is what has built my future and gave me exactly what I needed to pursue my dreams. I have always had a passion for beauty and fashion which is why I began modeling in 2017. I want to show not only my children but all girls and women around the world that we are all beautiful in our own way no matter your age, size, or race. The pandemic is what pushed me out of the corporate world and into entrepreneurship. Enhancing the beauty of the people around me by providing quality products and services to my customers is the main goal. Klassic Kare Co is thriving as an online store. And Klassic Klaws by Tam Bams store front will be opening in the near future which is one of my biggest priorities. My mission is to provide an ambience of love and laughter while providing a quality nail service. I want to build a legacy for my children and be a role model for other women like me.
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I would say that starting a business during a pandemic is definitely an illustration of my resilience. When many established businesses where shutting down and not knowing what would be next. I was paying for all of my packaging, containers, supplies etc. out of pocket. Not sure if we were going to gain loyal customers but I believed in my product so much that I knew it could not fail. I kept pushing through all the what if’s. Now we are selling out at Pop up Shop events as well as through our online store.
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
The biggest lesson I had to unlearn is self doubt and procrastination. If you don’t believe in yourself, how can you expect others to believe in you. If you have a great idea, don’t put it off until later, go for it, write it down, map out a plan and make it plain. Write everything thing down from beginning to end and don’t give up on your self. Success takes discipline and hard work but if you are passionate about what your doing it will all work out for the good.
