Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tameiya Love. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tameiya, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
Growing up I was always ambitious and thought big . My mission is to open my very own full service Beauty Bar for men and women . I had everything I needed growing up but our parents were still figuring things out and there was nothing we as kids had something to look forward too or get is started on a path . My mother took cosmetology and when I was forced to start doing my own hair, I became very interested in the beauty industry . Being now that I have kids , I work hard everyday towards my goals to ensure that 5-10 years from now they’d have jobs within a family owned business. Teach them things I caught on later in life. The beauty bar I feel will be a huge success and I want my kids to reap in the success as well because its all for them .

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
My name is Tameiya Love , I like to go by Meiya . On weekdays I am a assistant pre K teacher, On weekends I bartend and in between all that I do hair as well! I have three sons and I’m from Harvey, Illinois but been residing in the Texas area for about 12-13 years . I offer styles from braids, locs , twists, wigs , installs , etc . My energy and relatable essence is what I feel sets me apart from others because of course its not another Meiya . The main thing I want all my followers , fans and potential clients to know is I love learning and progressing myself. I’m always eager to learn new techniques and practices , everyday is a learning opportunity.
We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I’m still currently building my audience. However , consistency is key! Post , post , post ! Even if you get little no engagement or interaction trust me they see you ! I always got discouraged because of the engagement others receive when posting their work but its always the popular known stylists in the area . Make a post relating to your business at LEAST 2-3 times out the day ! Create reels , make it fun for your clients and have them join in if their comfortable. I stayed consistent with posting on my personal page and my business page. I use all my social media platforms to promote myself .

Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Currently I’m using style seat as my booking link . With styleseat they do marketing for you and send you clients as well ! This is a good tool for those starting out , but never forget business cards and word of mouth works still as well!
