Hi Tameika, thanks for joining us today. How did you come up with the idea for your business?
I came up with the idea of starting my online business with my husband. My children wanted more of me and my job was not allowing me to do so. I hated the fact I couldn’t be there for my children. I cried to husband about my job he told me to quit, but I knew I couldn’t just quit and do nothing. My brain won’t allow me I always had to have something of my own. He told me to write a list of things I was good at and get to researching. I ended up with starting a online clothing store
Tameika, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
How I got into the business was a lot research I had no one to guide me. My business offer custom made clothing made to motivate and provide comfort. I’m most proud of my ability to keep going I love motivation others to follow their dreams as well. I have a Facebook group where we allow women to promote their business on certain days and meet other boss women as well. Networking is key when starting out!
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
A lesson I had to unlearn was that everyone is not meant to support you! When I started my business my mom And a few friends supported me but I just knew my whole family would be my top supporters but that was not the case. I had to learn my assignment was global and not just Georgia.
Have you ever had to pivot?
When I started my business I quit my job that i worked for 3 years. I did ok in my first year as a full time entrepreneur but I knew I needed more.
. I started back working and maintaining my business now I am able to get more inventory without a worry
