Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Tamaree Austin. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Tamaree , appreciate you joining us today. Do you feel you or your work has ever been misunderstood or mischaracterized? If so, tell us the story and how/why it happened and if there are any interesting learnings or insights you took from the experience?
As a “free spirit independent thinker”, I think the way I express myself in an artistic form is misunderstood, why?because of the way it comes off from the heart. However, my character has been mischaracterized ;especially in the art I present and the certain matter/ manner I choose to speak upon. It comes off sharp, meaningful, and has a clear understanding from what I express and experience through everyday life. Most people do not feel they can be that free, so when someone is open and maybe can be “a little too honest”, it’s deemed as negative. What I did learn though, through growth and transparency is that everything will always be a learning experience. Each stage is a new beginning for something different, which determines the mind level you work to be on. Once I’ve learned that, I helped myself to understand emotional intelligence and how to navigate through life and also business affairs.

As always, we appreciate you sharing your insights and we’ve got a few more questions for you, but before we get to all of that can you take a minute to introduce yourself and give our readers some of your back background and context?
Byyou, Known as “Byyou92”, is a songwriting producer who varies in different sounds. Byyou mixes soul elements from piano, strings, bass-lines, drums, percussions etc. Not only is Byyou instrumentation style different, but so is the melodic tones of her voice. Not just through music but clothing, food, lifestyle etc is where Byyou brings a style of her own collections to the culture- where it can relate. It’s more so catered to an underground culture who can freely express themselves. Byyou specialty is catered by unisex thinking (on a female-male perspective. How the brand started is just by Byyou being herself and expressing through art form. From beats, to cooking, and creating came from building off ideas, not only from emotional pain, but artist intelligence; from the own mind as well. The problems I solve while working for and on myself, is that I put out product that is original and authentic where those who consumes can obtain without limitations. Rather it’s an equal give take exchange or working side by side. Making it where it’s consumable in the mind and hands for all parties involved. As a person who is constantly learning and growing. I’m proud of the will to evolve and adapt through change. Though it has and will never be easy growing and expanding is uncomfortable as you reach measures you never obtained before. But with a certain level of focus and core honesty, it guides to help stay on track and continue to build on self, and everlasting entrepreneurship.

Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative? Maybe you can provide some insight – you never know who might benefit from the enlightenment.
A person who is not in-tuned with self expression will not understand why one must express themselves through creativity, and how it shape everyday life thinking. What separates non creatives and creatives is that creatives move with every shift change. Rather it’s through emotions, energy transfer, lifestyle changes etc.. a person who express visually will be looked upon in most circumstances as strange because the emotion of creativity is not something someone who is not intimate with art will and sometimes cannot understand. But there are some things that may be hidden through text that cannot be comprehend as well. Which is not a problem, but the average thinker/ thinking again “just won’t understand”.

We often hear about learning lessons – but just as important is unlearning lessons. Have you ever had to unlearn a lesson?
A lesson I had to unlearn was being “too open” I had to learn self boundaries as well as what deserves my attention and what does not. Especially in business I had to unlearn that not every transaction is an approved transaction and sometimes it’s okay to cancel any transaction that is not of benefit to the cause.
