We were lucky to catch up with Tamara Fisher recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tamara, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today We’d love to have you retell us the story behind how you came up with the idea for your business, I think our audience would really enjoy hearing the backstory.
My name is Tamara Fisher, Certified Organizational Specialist™ and Productivity Coach. I’m a single mom of three and an Accountant by degree. My passion for analyzing and problem-solving is what I use to help busy moms MAINTAIN organization and MAXIMIZE free time. Contrary to popular belief, I was not born organized. I was actually the complete opposite. Somewhere in the demand of wife, mother, and employee, I became overwhelmed and depressed.
After my divorce in 2019, I had to declutter my home of five years and then retrain my children how to maintain their own home. All of it was challenging, yet achievable. The healing and peace I found after is what made me want to help other moms and subsequently create Peace in a Pod Organizing Solutions. Through my own experiences in marriage, divorce, and parenting, I’m able to provide realistic expectations and tailor systems that fit your family.
Tamara, love having you share your insights with us. Before we ask you more questions, maybe you can take a moment to introduce yourself to our readers who might have missed our earlier conversations?
I’m a Pro Organizer & Productivity Coach with Peace in a Pod Organizing Solutions. I specialize in helping people declutter and create systems that promote functionality and efficiency in their lives. We also discuss the prevention of clutter and dive deeper into how it got that way. Lastly, I help with their scheduling and planning so they can actually enjoy their free time. I absolutely love what I do and enjoy seeing other moms experience peace in their homes and lives. We do not have to do it all!
When I’m not Coaching other moms, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, making up meals on the spot, and traveling.
My favorite quote is “Do what you can, with what you have, where you are.” -Theodore Roosevelt
What’s a lesson you had to unlearn and what’s the backstory?
I had to unlearn that people aren’t looking for perfection, they’re looking for relatability and authenticity. Someone needs what you have to offer so don’t be afraid to show up.
How about pivoting – can you share the story of a time you’ve had to pivot?
There’s times in entrepreneurship where you’ll have down time and I had to pivot and figure out how else I can help my clients in the slow seasons. I offer digital products, coaching, and physical products such as room sprays and diffuser scents.
