At Still Water Communications Coaching, we offer theatrical-based training for anyone seeking to deliver their messages more effectively, with clarity and confidence.
As actors and public speakers, our unique theatre and film background allows us to use our training and experience to help people “own their stage”.
We truly believe that every great speaker is a great performer so teaching acting skills and using theatre training methods for breath, presence, voice, etc sets us apart from other communications coaching companies. Stage fright? We’ve been there- Forgotten our lines and had to improvise? Done that- Imposter Syndrome? Yep.
We’ve had to navigate a multitude of things that many public speakers tell us are roadblocks to their success. We can help them overcome those barriers and hopefully, have some fun along the way!
Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’ve been acting since my very first stage performance in Kindergarten. My husband and Co-Founder, Steven, discovered the theatre in high school and has never looked back, earning an MFA and many professional acting credits along the way.
We both found that because of our backgrounds, people would naturally reach out to us for input on their public speaking abilities, audition materials, and questions on how they could strengthen their executive presence. With Steven’s over 20 years of college teaching and acting experience and my experience in and passion for theatre, film, and high-level customer service, we recognized the value of theatrical-based training for Public Speaking paired with concierge service and launched Still Water Communications Coaching.
Our goal is simple: to help everyone from Father-of-the-Brides to College Students to Sales Teams, Professors, Executives, Motivational Speakers, and Actors improve their public speaking/performance/communication/ or audition skills with customized coaching sessions.
We believe that the power of communication in the workplace and everyday life has become more important than ever. People have lost vital skills from too much exposure to smartphones, the COVID-19 social distancing era, and the growth of remote work. Steven’s years of experience make him an effective Communications Coach or as I like to call him, the Leading Man for Still Water while I enjoy mostly serving our clients and the business as Stage Manager.
Steven is most proud of the work he does with college students, actors, and public speakers, and as for me, hearing that we made a difference in an important interview, presentation or overall confidence fuels me to continue building our client base to help as many people as we can.
Where do you think you get most of your clients from?
Word-of-mouth has been essential as we launched our business, as have partnerships with local companies, talent agencies, event planners, and other professionals.
Do you have multiple revenue streams – if so, can you talk to us about those streams and how your developed them?
To diversify our revenue streams, aside from individual and small group coaching sessions, we are launching our first e-book and have plans to continue to produce high-quality content on future ebooks, podcasts, and online courses.
