We recently connected with Tamanie (Tami) Dove and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Tamanie (Tami), thanks for joining us today. So let’s jump to your mission – what’s the backstory behind how you developed the mission that drives your brand?
The International Singer Songwriters Association (ISSA) was established by Tamanie Dove, a singer-songwriter originally from Nashville, now residing in Atlanta, with a deep commitment to supporting and serving independent artists. ISSA’s mission extends to encouraging aspiring and professional singers and songwriters across various music genres on a global scale.

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
Tamanie Dove, also known as Tami Dove, grew up immersed in the music scene, frequently backstage at the Grand Ole Opry. Her mother, Carole Dove, who worked at Tree Publishing (later becoming Tree International and now Sony/Tree), introduced young Tamanie to the music industry, taking her to business meetings, performances, and the homes of renowned figures in the music business.
Throughout her life, Tamanie cultivated enduring friendships with some of the most renowned singers and songwriters in Nashville, the United States, and abroad. These connections have been the most rewarding aspect of her journey, motivating her to embark on a new chapter to assist individuals like herself and support those aspiring to fulfill their musical aspirations.
Sadly, Tamanie Dove lost her mother, affectionately known as “Mama Dove,” to Covid-19 on Tamanie’s birthday in November of 2020. Tamanie believes that not only did heaven gain a new angel that day, but she gained a guiding spirit from her late mother. “Mama Dove,” with her extensive experience in the music industry, particularly on “the row,” having collaborated with luminaries like Buddy Killen, Curly Putnam, Jack Stapp, and having clients such as Roger Miller, Randy Travis, Sawyer Brown, Little Texas, Dr. Hook, Faron Young, and many others, has been a profound influence and life lesson for Tamanie. She remains committed to paying it forward.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes, of course our goal is to get as much of our members music heard out there that we can, on a global scale. It’s important to me and to our organization as a team to make sure we are doing everything we can every day to reach out to various outlets to get the most exposure we can for our very hard working, very deserving performing artists.

We’d love to hear the story of how you built up your social media audience?
I started with just a few of my close personal singer songwriter friends. When they heard that I was organized an association for others like myself and not charging a fee of any kind, they were all in. Others were also excited because they knew about my Nashville background and my experience in the music industry and that I could be an asset to them. My advice would be to start small, and let your reputation precede you. I feel that I just filled a void where there was an absolute need.
