We were lucky to catch up with Tamaiya Logan recently and have shared our conversation below.
Tamaiya, appreciate you joining us today. Before we get into specifics, let’s talk about success more generally. What do you think it takes to be successful?
I believe in order to be successful it takes a lot of faith & discipline. Being willing to learn in order to grow and reach the next level. There will be times you’ll have to sacrifice. Once you’ve set the goal and established the vision, it’s time to get to work. Believing that it will all come together. Even when it gets tough, you can’t give up. You must keep pushing. It’s all worth it in the end.
Tamaiya, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
I am the owner of “T’s Tutoring”.
T’s Tutoring was established during the pandemic. As an educator, I witnessed first hand how students were impacted. I wanted to help students succeed and grow academically. Taking the time to pour into them outside of the classroom. Through personalized plans, I work with students. I’ve personally witnessed students make major leaps and bounds in their learning. Higher test scores, improvement in reading & math, consistency on Honor Roll, and so much more.
I am most proud of being able to see how the students I tutor succeed. It’s a blessing to see them become more confident and improve in classroom performance. I’ve created lifelong relationships with students and their parents.
Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?
Marketing on social media has been the most effective strategy for growing my clientele. I have learned how to reach the right audience with flyers and reviews from current parents. This has helped me grow significantly in clientele. Its allowed to me think of ways to expand and be able to serve more students. I’m booked and busy!
We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.
I remember when I fist started, I had a moment where I became discouraged. I felt like my business wasn’t where I thought it should be. There were people who didn’t believe in me or respect my business. I wanted to give up and no longer tutor. At the time I felt like that was the best option. After praying and taking time to hear from God I decided to keep tutoring. I was reminded of how impactful I was as both an educator and a tutor. If I gave up, I was giving up on not only myself but my students and that wasn’t fair to them.
Since then my business has skyrocketed and I am making a huge difference in the lives of my students.
