We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Talia Lewis a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Talia , thanks for joining us, excited to have you contributing your stories and insights. It’s always helpful to hear about times when someone’s had to take a risk – how did they think through the decision, why did they take the risk, and what ended up happening. We’d love to hear about a risk you’ve taken.
I took a risk being the first in my family to make a move out of state after living in Michigan for 27 years!
I had so many emotions up and down, i couldn’t believe it, my anxiety went up!
I packed my bags and my children’s and moved to Decatur, Georgia just outside of Atlanta.
It was honestly the best experience I’ve ever encountered. Unfortunately it only lasted 2 blissful years. But that’s not the end of that chapter.
Living in Atlanta I’ve experienced being background, understand behind the scenes of very popular & known networks. I had the opportunity to become close friends to a few celebrities who have gave me solid advice that I will stand on forever, I’ve got to meet producers & creators of many popular shows. I even had the opportunity to walk on Tyler Perry’s very own studio! I watched him direct an episode of All Queens Men that I am in (yellow dress can’t remember what episode) however, it was a crazy experience I felt like I was star on set with him! I also had the opportunity to work with Comedian Kountry wayne, and Many other artists! I’m beyond thankful because those projects I’ve worked on paved the way for me and helped me get prepared for my very FIRST featured film with Detroit’s Very own Chedda Boy Films!
I ended up moving back to Detroit after going back & forth from Atlanta, landed a lead role as Kelsey on the next hit move “5 minutes” so dope being on that set and meeting amazing people who share the same passion as I do!
I don’t regret the decision of moving at all, because everything happened exactly the way it should have and I’m forever thankful for that! Catch my interviews to catch more about my journey & follow me on Instagram as I take things to the next level!

Awesome – so before we get into the rest of our questions, can you briefly introduce yourself to our readers.
I’m Talia Breanna, I paved the way for myself with the help of some others, once I realized this is what I really wanted, I hustled and manifested my way to the top! There were times I would get discouraged or distracted, which is why I’m more than likely not where I should be, but I’m 10000000% focused on my focus now and no one can stop that! It’s GO time!
I’m so proud that I don’t give up no matter what obstacles I face seriously!!!! I’m thankful for my supporters, those who believe in me, those that have given me a chance, those that lifted me up when I needed them the most & also thankful for those that did the complete opposite!
Is there something you think non-creatives will struggle to understand about your journey as a creative?
I know there are some people who wonder why does she goes ghost then pop back out lol. Or maybe not but that’s how I view it sometimes and others as well.
It’s a way to regroup and revamp, once you find that lane you’re supposed to be on then you come back and stay consistent with it. When you are all over the place it’s hard to stay motivated and consistent then your fans are wondering what you are doing and see that you aren’t serious, begins to unsubscribe and unfollow you.
It’s okay to take losses but once you turn them into lesson you’re undefeated.
Don’t get defeated worried about the wrong things, stay focused on your focus.

What do you think is the goal or mission that drives your creative journey?
Yes there’s a end goal & mission on this journey! I don’t wanna say it just yet but I do have it written out & I visualize it on a daily now that I am officially in alignment with what I desire!
