We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Tali C. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Tali below.
Alright, Tali thanks for taking the time to share your stories and insights with us today. Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?
At BehindTheSnack, our mission is deeply rooted in my own personal journey and passion for balancing delicious snacks with a healthy lifestyle. I started this Instagram account when I was 14 years old, driven by a love for snacking but also a desire to make healthier choices. Growing up, I often felt that healthy eating meant sacrificing taste, which left me frustrated and disappointed by bland options.
I wanted to change that narrative—so I created BehindTheSnack to show people that healthy snacks can be just as enjoyable as traditional ones. My mission is to prove that eating well doesn’t mean you have to give up the things you love. It’s about finding that sweet spot between flavor and nutrition, and encouraging others to make small but impactful changes in their snacking habits. I’m passionate about helping others embrace a healthier lifestyle without feeling deprived, and showing that it’s possible to eat foods that taste good and are good for you.
This mission is meaningful to me because it combines my love for food with a deeper purpose—to help people feel better, make healthier choices, and still enjoy every bite along the way.

Great, appreciate you sharing that with us. Before we ask you to share more of your insights, can you take a moment to introduce yourself and how you got to where you are today to our readers.

Are there any books, videos or other content that you feel have meaningfully impacted your thinking?
There isn’t one specific book or video that’s had a life-changing impact on my entrepreneurial thinking, but rather, it’s the broader concept of constantly learning from a variety of sources. I believe in regularly watching videos, reading books, and learning from people who have already walked the path I’m on. Every resource I come across is an opportunity to highlight key insights that I can apply now or revisit in the future.
I’m always looking for success stories, failures, and advice from people who have been through what I’m experiencing. There’s so much valuable information out there—whether it’s from books, podcasts, or articles—and I think it’s important to take full advantage of it. By continuously consuming and reflecting on others’ experiences, I’m able to adapt and grow, shaping my own entrepreneurial journey in the process. Learning never stops, and I truly believe the more we seek out knowledge, the more we can grow and succeed.

Can you talk to us about how you funded your business?
One of the biggest misconceptions about starting a business is that you need a lot of money to get going. While it’s true that the initial investment will vary depending on the type of business, my experience has shown me that you don’t need a huge budget to start—especially if your business is online and doesn’t require inventory. For me, the cost of starting was much lower, but one of the most important lessons I’ve learned is to be scrappy.
You don’t need everything to be perfect in order to begin. It’s easy to get caught up in wanting everything to look just right, but the truth is, you can start with what you have and build from there. Perfection is something that can always be worked towards, but waiting for it to come before you take action will only hold you back. Starting with what you have, even if it’s not “perfect,” allows you to gain momentum and learn along the way. Realistically, growth happens through action, trial, and refinement. So, take the leap with what you have, and improve as you go.
Since my main business revolves around creating food videos for my page and for companies, having a nice kitchen setup was definitely necessary. However, living in a New York apartment, I didn’t have the space or budget for a fully equipped kitchen. So, I got scrappy and found creative ways to make it work.
I ended up sourcing a marble countertop from IKEA, and I used a backboard to create the illusion of a realistic kitchen setup. To complete the look, I found plates and bowls from local stores, keeping things affordable yet functional. The whole process was quick, efficient, and cost-effective, proving that you don’t need to spend a lot to create a professional-looking setup. It’s all about being resourceful and working with what you have. I was able to get everything I needed without breaking the bank, and it worked perfectly for the content I was creating. It’s a great reminder that sometimes, a little creativity and scrappiness can go a long way in building something great.
