We were lucky to catch up with Takiyah Williams recently and have shared our conversation below.

Takiyah, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s kick things off with your mission – what is it and what’s the story behind why it’s your mission?

K’s Kreative Designs was founded in October 2017. I was in college at the time and working at Chuck E. Cheese. I then decided that college was no longer for me and I also quit my job after working there for about 4-5 months.

I knew in my heart that I’d be an entrepreneur because I never saw myself working for anyone else. After quitting school, I informed my family and they were all EXTREMELY disappointed. They actually stopped speaking to me quite frequently after they got the news. However, I reassured them and myself that I would make up for it! Although they didn’t believe me, I believed in myself. That was all that mattered.

After about 2 years into business, things started to go VERY well! I ended up making 6 figures and I began to prove everyone who doubted me, wrong. Within those two years however, I dealt with depression, doubt, fear, anxiety, etc. because I had left school, I was in an abusive relationship, my family didn’t want to speak to me and the only person I could count on was myself.

Although I went through a lot in the beginning stages of K’s Kreative, I don’t regret anything because without all of my trials and tribulations, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I took my losses as lessons and blessings. Today, K’s Kreative has designed for over 1000 brands, I’ve designed a billboard in Times Square, featured in plenty magazines/articles, and I am maintaining 6 figures every year. Without God, none of this would have been possible.

K’s Kreative Designs is a company that specializes in brand designing and styling. I assist both men and women entrepreneurs by helping them create timeless branding. Any advice for growing your clientele? What’s been most effective for you?

Growing clientele can be hard however, what has worked for me is social media as I have a following of 10.6K followers, the use of hashtags, and also referrals from other clients.

What do you think helped you build your reputation within your market?

What I believe has helped me build my reputation within my market is the designs that I produce. The designs that I produce are for those who believe in their business and takes it very seriously. I produce neat, professional designs which stands out to my audience.
