TaKevalyn, looking forward to hearing all of your stories today. What’s the backstory behind how you came up with the idea for your business?

We’re all deserving of love right? There was a deep drive to create a space that you didn’t have to escape from, you could be yourself, healing could take place, you could feel safe, no judgements, a full space of genuine LOVE. Baking & creating medicinal products was a way to escape to that space and through that it was put on my heart to share the space with others and remind them that with everything that goes on in the world, love still exists. It can still be felt and experienced. Tasty, Unique, Heartfelt, Kef, Energy, Dedicated, Efficacious, Soothing = TUHKEDIES . To offer love ALWAYS and be a love guide by being an example simply by living this out is rewarding within itself and adds value to my life and others. The Gourmet Love Realm is an experience like no other, it’s love for your taste buds and your body.

My name is TaKevalyn (tuh-kev-ah-Lin) however you can call me TK or gourmet bae. Your love plug, life and moufgasm specialist! Yes you read moufgasm! A moufgasm is a special experience that you can only experience with the love eye offer for your tastebuds! Something for the whole tribe or just adults! A lifegasm is an experience you can only experience with the love eye offer for your body! All vegan, cruelty-free, organic and natural. TuhKedies & The Gourmet Co was created because we are all deserving of love! We are all worthy of experiencing something authentic, tasty, soothing, heartfelt, uniquely crafted. A realm you don’t have to escape from, you can relax, feel the love, vibe, discover the best parts of you that may need healing. That’s what really makes me most proud and honored to be blessed to do such work for the collective. To know lives have been impacted in a positive way motivates me to keep going!

We’d love to hear the story of how you turned a side-hustle into a something much bigger.

This is my favorite beginnings to this lifestyle of a journey! Lost my scholarship in college and had to pay for school out of pocket, already had a job serving however more funds were needed to be able to sustain. Baking and cooking, creating homemade things was a hobby that became a side hustle to put me through college. Once graduating, it was on my heart to continue baking and creating products instead of taking the traditional school/ work a good job route. Being able to obtain a business license, becoming certified in your craft with extra classes/ knowledge to expand, maintaining your business. Now that’s the biggest milestone is that we were able to sustain throughout the word shutting down. Not giving up even though some days you may feel like it, still showing up everyday in some way to add value to the business, thinking about the bigger picture and impact you’d like to make; all plays a part in this current moment where we are today. This was something that was started in December of 2013 and it’s been a journey since. Grateful would be an understatement!

We’d love to hear a story of resilience from your journey.

There will be opposing forces to tempt you into giving up. Opposing thoughts, forces, and energy that will tell you something different than the exciting idea you had in the beginning. Don’t listen or take heed to those opposing forces and anything opposite of what you feel and know. When those moments arise, choose to overcome them because it’s solely a test. Being told no, having to wait on certain things, not being able to profit most days in ways you’d think, the investments, the sleepless nights, the cries out to the cosmic creators for love and hugs, the guidance you’ll need to seek to become better, the uncomfortable growing experiences to mold you into better will all take place on your journey the moment you decide you’re going to live for YOU. Enduring it all is rewarding and a blessing because had not remained disciplined, we wouldn’t be doing an interview with the company we use to design our logos and flyers and labels, videos, etc that’s apart of the business tremendously! See how that works? And this wasn’t even something we were seeking, it divinely fell into our lap as a beautiful opportunity. Being disciplined, determined & resilient rewards you with beautiful opportunities that will continue to move you forward, so don’t give up!
